Those who made it to practice this morning at Sharks Ice were greated with the return of Sandis Ozolinsh. Ozolinsh, who was released from his tryout with the Worchester Sharks late last week, was again wearing number 24 and was involved in every drill -- including being paired with Rivet on the point for PP practice with Thornton's unit (Rivet's normal partner, Matthew Carle, was down working the point with Pavelski for Marleau/Roenick/Bernier). Ozo said he was happy to be back in San Jose, but while he is practicing with the team, nothing official has been released regarding a NHL contract. At this point it seems a matter of "when" rather than "if" there will be a contract for him. However, any signing would necessitate a roster move by the Sharks, who are currently carrying 23 players not including Davison, Norton, Plihal and Clowe who are already on IR.

Also returning to practice today were Mike Grier, Douglas Murray, and Jeremy Roenick (who all missed yesterday's skate). Late arrivals after practice was officially over included Rob Davison and Tomas Plihal (his first skate I've seen in weeks), meaning the only two not to hit the ice today were Brad Norton (still injured since camp) and Ryane Clowe.

Lines from today's Practice:

Michalek - Thornton - Setoguchi
Rissmiller - Marleau - Bernier
Kaspar - Mitchell - Roenick
Goc - Pavelski - Cheechoo (+Brown)
Grier

Defensively, only McLaren/Ehrhoff stayed together for the whole practice. The other six swapped spaces but were typically Carle/Rivet, Murray/Ozolinsh, and Vlasic/Semenov.

Today's practice also saw the end of the moustaches that Thornton and Marleau were sporting Wednesday morning.
