Canucks

There's a lot of talk about Olli Jokinen coming to Vancouver. I understand the difficulties in making trades with the salary cap etc. However, when a guy of this level is possibly available, Nonis has to do what it takes to get him here. With the way the salaries are going $5.25 mill per year for him is a great bargain. He's 28 and locked up until 2010/11. If this can't happen, I like Ohlund and draft picks for Erik Cole. Cole is ramping up to be a solid 40 goal guy. He's great in the playoffs and would fit nicely with Morrison/Naslund. If there is a shred of hope make a deal with Atlanta for the superstar Hossa. Atlanta's defense is about as thin as it gets. How great would Ohlund look anchoring that blueline? With Hossa being a free agent at the end of next year it makes sense. Finally, Nonis should be dangling Cory Schneider in Chicago's face. He would fit nicely with the fine young talent they have coming up. Wouldn't it be nice to bring Brent Seabrook back home?

I hope the canucks don't trade ohlund, i still believe he is their best all around defenceman. Personally i am not a salo fan, i know he is locked up for 4 years but i would prefer to see him traded for offence. I would love to see hossa with the canucks but the risk maybe to big that he won't resign. Nonis should offer him one ridiculously big contract next off season.

Good luck with that. Neither one of those guys is going to be that easy to get. The Canes have pletny of D-men to develop right now, we don't need another. Hossa you might be able to get in FA, but the thrashers are going to do everything they can to keep him.Olli Jokinen? I'm guessing that's only talk. The panthers need him too much for that to happen without a lot of picks and a few good players.

Canuck fans I am sorry to be the bearer of bad news guys but when I think about teams to be concerned with your Canucks dont even make the top 10... Teams in your division that are going to take over are the Wild and the Avalanche.... I am being truly serious with you

The Northwest will be a dogfight between 4 teams. The Oilers will be eliminated by Christmas. Of course, no one has a clue how the rosters will look in October yet. Jokinen won't be coming to Van. The price is too high and it doesn't make sense for either team to make a move like that.

Division will play out the same as it did last year. one team will get third others will get 7 8 9, and oilers will get 15
