He has a NTC..same with Langenbrunner. I don't know what the point of saying "(after this year)" is because of course he can't be traded once he is a FA...
The Devils should be talking to the Habs, I'm sure they'd be interested in acquiring Arnott if the price wasn't too high.
Arnott is not a solution to anything. He's 36.
move him to the top line with Elias and Langenbrunner. move Kovalchuk to second line with zubrus
Keep him till the season is over. He's slowing down.. A LOT. He'll be as bad as Rolston next year. Let him go as a UFA. No1 would accept a trade for him.. (if we're not in contention)
Keep him. He's leading the Devils in goals.
Same as Langs, move him at the deadline when other teams are willing to take back a portion of his contract. He still could be very useful to a contender. Probably at best you would get back a mid-round pick. Hope for a 3rd but probaly settle for a 4th or 5th. It's another bad trade Lou has made (gave up this year's 2nd which probably will be like a 1st and Halischuk).
He's had really good chemistry with Elias again so I don't see what there is to be done with him. Clearly we won't resign him for next year and I expect him to retire. One last year on his former team seems like a good way to go out, right?
