Yup, that's pretty much it. Giguere is cool and all, but at the end of the day, the Eastern teams have it more "figured out" than the western teams who are still playing scared. It's too bad the RW's couldn't do it. As much as we all love Hasek, in the end, it was not meant to be. (not sure how that came out, if it was sarcastic enough). In any case, may the best team win!!!! Ooops... I mean, sweep
There will be no jinxing. You can't jinx destiny
The Ducks are the one team that will either beat or "beat" Ottawa. Regardless, it's going to be a good final (lets hope).
I'm with mojoworld - no reason to think that Ottawa can't take it in four. Best guess though is a repeat of their performance against all challengers this playoff season. Win 3 and lose 1 = Stanley Cup for Ottawa 80 years after they won their last one and then became a dynasty for the NHL of those days! A one or two year dynasty again in the 21st century may be something we can all handle. They have certainly paid their dues!
Yeah, I would have to agree, 5 games.
Don't count on it. Emery has trouble controlling the puck, and tends to give up some really juicy rebounds. I look for 6 games whoever wins.
Anaheim will not be able to kill penalties for ever. I'm sorry, the Sens PP is too good right now and their 6 D-mean are far superior to the 3 3 D-men styles that Anaheim plays. I know Giguere is cool and all, but at the end of the day, Sens are the better team, playing like the better team and it'll be an easy romp. This playoff season will clearly re-shape a lot of the thinking in most GM minds about what makes up a winning hockey team.
Should definitely be an interesting final. As much as I hate Ottawa, it certainly looks like this is their year. If Anaheim has penalty trouble, Ottawa's superior powerplay could spell victory for the sens. ottawa in 5.
