The Blues today signed forwards Jason Arnott and Jamie Langenbrunner to one-year contracts.

Both players signed for $2.5 million, with bonuses adding up to potentially $2.8 million.

Langenbrunner, 35, played in 70 games with New Jersey and Dallas last season, registering nine goals and 23 assists. The former Devils' captain was also the team captain of the 2010 USA Olympic hockey team.

Arnott, 36, played in 73 games with New Jersey and Washington, putting together a 17 goal, 14 assist campaign.

Both guys add some much-needed veteran leadership to a very young Blues' locker room.

Much needed? Or leadership that can tell the less experienced players how to win and how to deal with the play offs? Again all you are doing is copying other people's stories and passing them off as your own. You have to cite your sources.

Nice adds today. UFA always pays well but atleast there one year deals. Never hurts to add some veterans to a young team who is on the rise. I think St.Louis is going to be a surprise team next year. I like there team alot.

The Devils were a vet team last year and I am thrilled to not have to deal with another year of either one. Maybe on a younger team they will thrive.

@rmdevil313The reason NJ played so poorly in the first half was due to their coach and the system that he implemented. Fact is, NJ seemed to only respond to the trap style and with Lemaire's retirement, I expect much the results to be of that from the first half of last season. Parise will hit UFA after he finishes his one year contract from arbitration and will command top dollar on the open market...
