I'm sure Dallas is trying to find a big move to shake up the lackluster roster, but cmon. What can they really do? They waste their 1st round picks every year on defensive dmen, and this years 1st belongs to Phoenix for the punchless Ladislav Nagy. Looking at the roster yields this other problem: Who do they actually trade?
Modano/Zubov/Turco/Morrow aren't moving. Why would you move any of Boucher, Lehtinen, Halpern, or Lundqvist?
The biggest assets become:
Mattias Norstrom
Mike Smith
Trevor Daley
Jussi Jokinen
Loui Eriksson
Antti Miettinen
Eklund says its a team in the northeast. Dallas NEEDS offense, and always stockpiles dmen. So who from the northeast division could be had? Well we have Bryan McCabe, Wade Redden, Sergei Samsonov, Thomas Vanek, and Saku Koivu. Samsonov sucks now though, Vanek would cost more than than the Stars can muster, and Koivu would only move if they got a bigger player before moving him so its not him.
So the best I can figure are one of these 3 options.
1. A package for Wade Redden
2. A package for Bryan McCabe
3. Mike Smith to Boston in some package for a younger scorer.
