that is one step in the right direction for hockey. i no longer have to hear about how he won his cups, or ridiculous analogies or watch keith jones or chicken parm roll their eyes at his less than intelligent comments.

It made me happy as well. It's not a good thing when every time Hull opens his mouth I am tempted to throw something heavy at the television. I could do major damage.

I agree, this guy truly think he is the only one knowing hockey. He definitely had the wrong mindset and attitude while on TV.

I personally loved Hull. No matter what anyone else said he disagreed and caused somewhat of an uproar (seemingly near fist fights at points). I shouldnt say this being a Buffalo fan thru and thru, but im a bit upset that he isnt coming back. And i thing Pang is the best out there by-the-way.

Most former hockey players make BRUTAL tv guys because they come from a union...like hell they are going to give a real take on a players performance.

I'm shocked to hear a Buffalo fan saying they loved Hull! Isn't that going to get you exiled from town and ticket rights revoked? I'm glad to see him go, as colorful as Hull was he couldn't keep his ego or personal biases out of it. I love for a commentator to be passionate and opinionated, but back it up with reason and give us something to chomp down on. He embarrassed himself utterly with his claims about the Ducks and Rangers during the playoffs.

I am with you jerlejeune! I hated NHL on NBC because of Hull and his opinions that made no sense. I loved it when Don Cherry was on and put him in his place! Thank the Stars for this lovely present of removing Hull from TV!

don cherry and bret hull have the exact same personality, just one is on canadian tv and one was on american. that night that don cherry "put him in his place" ron maclean called hull "bret cherry" because they agreed on everything except the very last point

thank god. he was maybe the worst analyst/tv guy ive seen in any of the sports i follow.
Well predswilrule I wouldn't go that far. There is always Michael Irvin. = )
joe theisman gets my vote.
Barry Melrose ruined me for anyone else. He's the best at what he does.
At least Michael Irvin was entertaining
