That is the question I have been asking myself the last few weeks, teams have been trying to find the right guy between the pipes lately, and how have they been doing?
Anaheim started it all by putting Ilya Bryzgalov on waivers, and the chain reaction ensued.
Bryzgalov went to Phoenix, where he has been the best goalie in the desert since Brian Boucher's 5 consectutive shutouts. This then allowed the 'Yotes to release/waive Alex Auld, who ended up in Boston. Auld started his stint in Boston pretty hot, and then cooled a little. This has allowed Tim Thomas to play the bulk of the games the last 3 weeks.
Around the same time Auld went to Boston, Tampa Bay decided to waive Marc Denis, they sent him to the minors and called heralded Finnish rookie Karri Ramo, who has not won since his debut, or is this the curse of the 'Bolts defense?
Carolina then followed suit with waiving John Grahame, and promoting Michael Leighton. Leighton has then started the last two games.
So who is the starting goalies, today I am not sure. Teams are trying to figure out what to do, and who is #1.
