I don't like Giroux on the first line. Too small of a line and maybe a bit too much pressure for a rookie. Swap him and Knuble and he's setting up Carter for 40 goals.

One major worry I'd have with Giroux and Briere together is the lack of size and proven defensive ability. Gagne isn't a sure bet, yet and there's no size even with Gags on that line. I don't think any line is a lock at this point.

Gags-Briere-Knubs// Upshall-Richards-Lupul// Hartnell-Carter-Giroux// Cote-Metro-Asham(Downie).... Defense is exactly how i see it and anticipate it... I think by putting upshall on the 2nd line you give them guys a little more speed (spread the speed throughout the lines) and give the 3rd line a power forward to go with a sniper and a playmaker.. makes 3 really solid lines if you ask me.

Don't know that Giroux will be on the first line to start the year, but who knows. Love the idea of a Gags/Richie/Danny first line. Oh and just like a Toronto troll to chime in when his team has nothing to talk about :)

Gagne-Briere-Hartnell- Hartnell brings grit to that line.Lupul-Richards-Giroux- Doesn't matter who is on Richards wings. Production.Upshall-Carter-Knuble- Most consistent line during stretch/playoffs.Defensive pairings are up in the air... too many unknowns to figure out in camp to even put pairings together.I do not see Giroux heading to the top line because it will be a very small non physical line. I also do not see Knuble there because of the tremendous success/consistency of the Upshall-Carter-Knuble line down the stretch and in the playoffs. I think Hartnell is a great fit with Gagne and Briere and have been saying it since the beginning of last season.. i really hope to see that line to start the season. Lets Go Flyers!!!

I think that switching giroux and hartnell would be good. Hartnell would add a physical presence to the briere gagne line. I think Giroux would do well with Richards and Lupul. No matter what it's going to be great though. I'm sure that knuble, carter, and upshall will be together again since they really seem to feed off each other. I'd say that the 4th line is sure to include Cote and Asham but the third player could really still be up for grabs. Good D pairings.

Anyway you slice it 3 scoring lines is pretty darn good in my books!!!!!
phillyburbs.com says the top line will be Gagne/Richards/Briere, with Jeff Carter centering the 2nd line.
i heard upshall-carter-knuble was a lock

I do love your D-pairings though. That's what I'd do if I were Rambo.

and i agree with the D pairings
i would flip lupul and giroux
What about Berard on D?I really think he'll make the team and prove he still as alot of game left!

I agree w/JS, there are no locks yet. I'm most curious to see how these 14 or so dmen battle it out in camp.
That's exactly what I'd do . . . at least at first. :O)
softest first line ever
