So I thought I would offer up a new solution for the structure of the divisions and conference. This also takes into accounts some team moves due to the economics of the game. Your thoughts?
Northern Conference
Toronto, Montreal, Ottowa, Buffalo, Toronto (Phoenix)
Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, Winnepeg (Florida Panthers), Minnesota
Boston, New York Ranger, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, New Jersey
Southern Conference
Atlanta, Tampa Bay, Caralina, Washington, Columbus
Dallas, St Louis, Nashville, Chicago, and Detroit
Anaheim, San Jose, LA Kings, Colorado, Portland (NY Islanders)
My only objection would be with the Toronto Coyotes. I agree with having another team in TO but I would put them in the other conference.
The biggest reason there is East and West conferences is because of the cost/time savings on travelling as well as the time change becomes an issue. It's fun to think up these ideas but it will never happen.
Just...put the Leafs back in the Norris if Balsillie wins.
i dont like it because you have all the canadian teams together. The north would always dominate
I would keep the current divisions just move Phoenix(Hamilton) to the Northeast and then move the Maple Leafs to the Central Division. If the Islanders move to the west like KC or elsewhere, I say move Nashville the Southeast Division. Overall nice Idea Dgutzman
I'd move Phoenix to Hamilton and put them in the Central Division. Move Colorado and Nashville to the Pacific division. San Jose to the Northwest.
