This was not a typical 1-0 win, it was exciting with end to end action, great goaltending, hard hits and great action all night long. This was not a Jacques Lemaire 1-0 Minnesota Wild game, even though the Habs retro sweater looked like a Wild sweater, this was a very entertaining game to watch.
Jerome Iginla scored yet another game winning goal, his 9th of the season. Dion Phaneuf had some monster hits and looked like he has found his groove of late. Olli Jokinen looks like he gets it, and has been playing better of late.
Kipper v Halak
This was a goaltenders duel. Halak made alot of good saves, especially early to keep les Canadien in the game.
Kipper was solid all night long, not tested as much as Jaroslav Halak, but making the big stop when needed. Montreals besy chance was Gomez on a breakaway, that after Kipper went to poke check, Gomez lost control of the puck and never did get a shot on goal.
The Flames now have a couple of days off until the back to back games this weekend Fri in Buffalo and Sat in Toronto. I would expect to see the Flames start McIlhenny on friday vs the Sabres.
