What did Slats see that Lou didn't? This guy was at Devil's camp and couldn't crack their lineup. Really? Have you watched the Devil's transition game? Surely they could use another cheap puck moving d-man.

Given McDonagh's rapidly expanding offensive prowess and Del Zotto's return to form (well.....close enough) was it really necessary to burn $900k on this guy? Who sits? Both Emminger and Woywitka have stabilized the back end and I believe have earned ice time.

He's hardly a veteran presence. By his own admission, he's hardly a d-man (see interview with Trautwig). What's his upside? Is he going to anchor the powerplay? Really? I'm at a loss....

The key to the NYR's offensive woes (if they have any at the moment....5 wins in a row and counting) is getting increased production from the wing from a player we already have...Brandon Dubinsky. When he gets it going...and I'm confident he will....other pieces will fall into place.

Of course...now that I've written this...Stralman be a finalist for the Norris...

Lidstrom, Weber and...Stralman.

What are the chances...
