I posted this as a little reply in Tim Panaccio's "On Heidi, Barbaro and the Sabres-Rangers" but my little reply kept growing until I felt that I should post it as a blog and see if I could spark some discussion.

I can't say that I disagree with anything Tim wrote about attract...
There is always a lot of talk about how poor the marketing seems to be for the NHL. I wanted to talk about some of the brighter spots I have seen as of late. Most of what I will talk about is related to the Flyers since that is the team I see the most material on but I feel that things like this are happening around the league and in some cases are just being missed.

marketing:
will the NHL ever become a top 3 sport?
my answer: NO
simple reason, the United States citizens in part think of it as a foreign sport, if Sidney Crosby was a US citizen the game would gain more from the marketing of him.

Like many gamers, I have been waiting on the roster update for NHL 08. We all assumed it would be out in a reasonable time. Well it has finally come out 3 weeks after the trade deadline and it's full of glitches.
Systems lock up, connections drop, and lineups are full of holes. The Stars, my favorite team, and the Sharks (the other team in the Pacific) only have...

This is to every Devils fan who is tired of seeing Rangers commercials that actually make people laugh and generate interest, instead of a 3 second clip followed by BUY TICKETS MONEY MONEY MONEY!!!
It's the little things that...

Some of you may know that I am a Rangers fan, and while I wholeheartedly root against New Jersey when the NYR play them, I believe getting more fans into the Prudential Center on a regular basis is of the u...

Throughout these playoffs, I have read time and time again how this team doesn’t match up with this team and that team has better depth than this team.
In the end, it’s the game itself and how it’s played.
I for one like to see the game played 5 on 5, I don’t want to have the game tarnished by seeing a winning goal scored on the Power Play. Even if it...
