First off, hats off the the Detroit Red Wings for setting a franchise record 15 straight wins at home.
Now down to business. As the old saying goes, "When it rains it pours." I'd say at this point it is flooding for the Buffalo Sabres. A 5-0 dismantlement of a Sabres team who is finding it impossible to find itself. And by that I mean this Sabres team just doesnt have any type of identity, or at least any positive ones. They're soft, they're sloppy, and they're just flat out boring to watch.
I spent most of this game watching Detroit and just marveling at their poise. It was just another day at the office for them. They made embarrassing the Sabres look incredibly easy.
Ryan Miller got pulled in this game after allowing 5 goals through roughly half of the game. His team once again let him down. Its got to cut deep for Miller to have his team perform like that against his brothers team, and also with his family and former Michigan State team mates in attendance. Miller never returned to the bench after he was pulled. Maybe he, like so many other fans, are sick of watching this team too.
Maybe Miller should have stopped one or two of the five Detroit goals, but seriously, the mistakes the Sabres made that led to the goals were just embarrassing. I don't quite understand why it is that this team consistently turns the puck over in its own zone on a game to game basis. I have never seen anything like it.
Now is the part where I talk about how the Sabres offense generates little to no offense throughout the game. When they do have opportunities they either shoot wide, or find some way to mishandle the puck until the goalie is back in position to make the save. And now I'm done. I might as well copy and paste this into every post-game blog.
I'm at the point now where my hopes for this season are non existent. Its time to start shopping the players that aren't a part of the plan for this team in the future. Wait for the best deal to come across, and then do it. No need to rush into anything now, because its pretty much too late. Re-tool for next season.
We too want to congratulate Detroit Red for his victory in the recent months. And we hope that he will keep supporting the same franchise and evolis primacy all we can do is giving support to him and pray for his health.
