Thoughts on Tonight's Games...

Pit 3 @ Ott 6 - The score flattered the Penguins, as the Pens were flat for all but maybe the last five minutes of the game. Crosby and Fleury looked jittery, Malkin wa kinda invisible, and there really weren't too many other players that played well for Pittsburgh. Only Jordan Staal, Mark Eaton, and Rob Scuderi stood out for me as positive contributors here. If Fleury doesn't improve right quick, the Sens might sweep this thing. Plan B is Jocelyn Thibault, and he has a horrendous playoff record.
Ottawa dominated pretty much all game and were allowed to impose their will on a Pittsburgh team that just didn't seem to want it as much. Neil scored a beauty for the 5th goal, and most of the players got on the scoresheet, so it was quite balanced. The only problem I see is that they may have given the Penguins a little momentum by letting up in the last 5 minutes. Pittsburgh is not a team you want to give momentum to.
SJ 5 @ Nsh 4 (2OT) - The second I saw Rissmiller find that hole, I knew it was trouble. And Patty Marleau has enough awareness to take advantage of that. Nabokov made many outstanding saves, and it was a very entertaining game. Marc-Edouard Vlasic was very impressive on D and has been all year. I fear the Sharks just have too much size, strength, and firepower for the Preds, but this will be one hell of a series. Cheechoo was hurt though, and hat has to be a concrn to the Sharks.
The two most impressive players all night, for my money, were Alexander Radulov and JP Dumont. Each potted a couple, but it wasn't enough. Shea Weber, Jordin Tootoo, Marek Zidlicky, and Peter Forsberg were also impressive. Vokoun played well, but he still makes me a bit nervous - I think the Sharks have the edge in net.
Min 1 @ Ana 2 - I didn't see as much of this game as the others. Backstrom had a pretty good game, but it did not prove to be enough. From what I did see, Demitra had a few chances, and the scoring play was beautiful. Gaborik was also a threat all night. Obviously, they'll have to get some help to win Game 2.
Anaheim surprised me by starting Bryzgalov, especially given Giggy's playoff history against the Wild (1 GA in 4 GP). But, Ilya did the job, now who starts Game 2? I'm sure JS wouldbe peeved if he didn't get to play, as he has been the starter all year. Selanne and Penner scored for the Ducks, and played solid. Beauchemin really impressed me. The Wild will be ready for the next one though, so it should be a good one.
Dal 4 @ Van 4 (4OT) - This game is still in progress. Dallas is getting a lot more shots, and I think they're a bit fresher as Vancouver has a couple players out of commission. Turco has played well...he hasn't been perfet, but he's giving his team a chance to win, and that's all the Stars ask. Antti Miettinen has impressed me most of all the Stars' players tonight. Really, a solid game.
Luongo is saving their butts again after being a litle shaky earlier in the game. I think he's found his comfort zone. Cooke and Burros are out and have been since regulation, so Vancouver may tire a little quicker, though after 6+ periods, everyone's tired. Cowan, Krajicek, and Bieksa have also impressed me tonight, and Naslund has a couple of points. The Sedins combined on the first goal but haven't realy been heard from much.
Anyone could win this game. And I could lose a lot of sleep.
