Now that Vokoun is with the Florida Panthers, will he suck?
I refer not to his admirable goalie skills, but to the welcome he will receive when the Panthers play Nashville this year.
As many of you know, we Preds fans have a charming way of welcome the starting lineup of opposing teams at the beginning of each game. As the names are announced, we gleefully yell "SUCKS!" after the name of each player, ending with a raucous "HE SUCKS, TOO!" after the coach is announced.
So what's it gonna be, Pred Nation? Will we tell Tomas he sucks, or remain respectfully quiet, or cheer? Or some garbled version of all three?
Honestly, I don't remember what we've done when other former Preds have returned to play on our ice, but I'm not sure we've had any former players with quite the impact Vokoun had both on and off the ice. Timonen, of course, is the possible exception, and maybe Hartnell, but since we won't play the Flyers this year, it's not much of an issue with them.
I guess we'll see how it goes when the Panthers visit the Sommet Center on October 27.
