Pens game

I'm not going to write a summary of what happened; Shaune did a really nice job of that on the main page, and there is no need to recap it. That being said I would like to share some pictures and thoughts.

I was disappointed to see Fleury leave the game as I really wanted to see him play up close. He has been playing better as of late, and I would have appreciated seeing a ridiculous acrobatic save.

I thought the game was very exciting. The Flames didn't paly as well as they did on Tuesday against St Louis, but they have put 5 decent periods together and I can't remember the last time I was able to say that. Tangauy finally took a shot, even if Iginla did get credit for the goal. Huselius is still holding the puck too long, but when he makes passes like he did for Iggy's second goal, not too many fans are going to complain.

I am a little confused as to why Conroy played 21 minutes compared to Langkow's 16 last night. For the second game in a row I thought David Hale played ... well, I didn't see him screw up, which is really all you can ask for. I still don't like Eriksson, but with Warrener (leg) and Regehr (foot) now out of the lineup for extended periods of time his ice time is likely to increase past the 23 minutes he played last night.

The Penguins: they are fast. The amount of skill they have up front is ridiculous, and their powerplay is so dangerous. Crosby didn't light up the Flames like he did in the third against the Oilers, but he did make a couple of nice moves. He definitely didn't live up to the hype in the sense that he didn't skate through the whole team and score while blindfolded, but I thought he played well, he just couldn't get anything going.

Lastly, Kipper has played two great games in a row, so here is to hoping he has turned a corner. He was still sliding too far out of the net some times, but his rebound control was much better and he was stopping the puck, which is all we can ask of him. At the end of the day two points would have been nice, but we are playing much better, we got one point, and now we need to take the confidence on this roadtrip. Now would be a good time to become the team that Flames fans have been expecting all year.

Just a couple of more pictures that didn't turn out too fuzzy.

meh too many moral victories, not enough real wins, leaves the flames fighting to not be in last place in the conference.with regher out, and an upcoming 6 game road trip.......... this flames team may need to start looking at being sellers earlier than the deadline.
