The Hockey News had an interesting article on Mike Keenan and his new head coaching responsibility here in Calgary:

In addition, the Flames Prospect Camp is set to open tomorrow with some fitness testing. The players have been split into two squads and will practice over the weekend with scrimmage on Sunday afternoon. The main camp opens on the 13th of September. All ice times are at the Saddledome and is open to the public.

The prospects consist of: 5 goalies, including Brent Krahn and Curtis McElhinney; 10 defensemen; and 26 forwards, including 2007 draftee Mikael Backlund, 2004 draftee Kris Chucko and 2002 draftee Eric Nystrom (seen right).

Information on players and schedules can be found on the Flames website, http://flames.nhl.com/tea...eid=336542#prospectroster.

Lastly, the Flames new threads were revealed yesterday afternoon by Ken King and the Flames organization. Major changes were not evident, however the "fire-breathing horse" shoulder patches have been replaced with, to some, controversial federal and provincial flags, while striping down the side of the jersey has also been incorporated with the original flaming C logo. My opinion is that they didn't mess with the simplicity of the jersey, thumbs up, while I feel that there could have been something else or nothing at all on the shoulders instead of the flags, thumbs down.

I'm working on projected final player statistics for this upcoming year. Comments and questions are welcome.

No, unfortunately something to do with my boss expecting me to be at my desk for 8 hours a day is in my way of getting down there. I was debating going on the weekend though. How is your son?
