This is just a blog to get fans opinions on who the top 10 forwards are this season. I am not talking based on their age, history, or future potential. Based on simply their play up to this point of the season.
Who are your top 10 forwards of the 2007-2008 NHL season?
1. Ilya Kovalchuk2. Vincent Lecavalier3. Henrik Zetterberg4. Dany Heatley5. Jarome Iginla6. Jason Spezza7. Pavel Datsyuk8. Sidney Crosby9. Mike Richards10. Paul StastnyFYI: I based my choices on the value the player has to his team, so maybe it's more of an MVP list. In my opinion Kovalchuk has been far and away the most important forward to his team in the entire league. I don't care what anyone says, in my opinion he is the best pure goal scorer that the NHL has seen in may years. He is so fun to watch! God, I would kill to have him on the Flyers!!!

uhhhhh Thornton has 41pts next Shark 17pts.
I think Cory Stillman should get an honorable mention...he's having an excellent, and is helping my fantasy team out tremendously.
1. Lecavalier, 2 Kovalchuk 3. Zetterberg 4. Thornton 5. Iginla 6. Healtey/Spezza/Alfredsson. 7. Crosby 8. Ovechkin 9. Paul Statsny 10. SundinHonorable Mentions : Stillman/M.Richards/M.Ribiero/malkin
How many players in the league do as much as Richards in all aspects of the game as well as he does and still is on pace for 40 goals and 100 points. Not to mention is put on the ice to play defensively against the top line of the other team every single night, and still produces points and is a 7... Richards in my opinion is a top 5 player in the league this year in terms of an all around forward...
Doesn't appear to be much disagreement about the top 10, however I will chip in with a few honorable mentions: Cory Stillman. Mike Ribiero, Patrick Sharp, Paul Statsny, Ryan Getzlaf, Corey Perry.
