The Game and Some other Good Stuff

First of all I would like to congratulate the Avs for the W. Good work Wolski, and keep it up. Svatos, three assists? He is on pace to triple his assists from last season. He is turning into a well rounded player, and stronger defensively. He is not afraid to dig in front of the net and has laid his fair share of big hits along his boards. Look them up on youtube if you don't believe me.

Early drive from the youth showed as well. Svatos to Wolski looks like a good combination. Put Hensick with those two. No more of this Arnason stuff in the middle.

I have a new nick name for Arnason. "10% Arnie." He only shows up 10% of the time, and that glimmer of hope, like last night, show why coaches have such a hard time giving up on him. The announcers on the radio even joked about him not showing up every night. If he dug as hard as he did last night, who knows what kind of player he might be. This is a player who is easily capable of 50 to 70 pts a season, if he worked hard. He accomplished that his first year with the Blackhawks, 22 goals no less. Can any of you picture that, a Tyler Arnason contributes 22 goals a season, not to mention 33 assists? Arnie if you are reading this, please get rid of this nickname.

Now on to the next part of this blog. I am going to compile a list of sites to visit so that we can get our fill of Avalanche news.

First nhl.com. This site has so much information, and if you missed the game you can see a full package of highlights, every goal as well as many of the hits. Also attached to this site is something called the Northwest Notes. This section is an article written weekly about the Northwest Division, and included is usually a feature of one specific team, or topic relative to all of the teams. Next up on the sites I visit to get my Avalanche fill would be the Denver Post home site. www.denverpost.com/avalanche is the site to visit. We are luck to have a guy who goes to every game and follows the team with quite a bit of interest in Adrian Dater. He blogs faithfully and is very quick to give us updates on the status of our players. His writing was the first place I saw the MacKenzie(sp) call up and Foote on the I.R. Sakic is looking more and more like an I.R. is coming as well.

The next place I visit is probably a rival site, but oh well. www.hockeyfights.com helps me keep up with every fight that Lappy partakes in as well as the Double Mac Attack(cheesey, I know, but always good to laugh at yourself). If it was on T.V. anywhere, chances are that the fight is posted there. If you are not a fan of fighting in the game skip this site, but bear in mind there are other reads available on this site at the bottom of the page.

Next up in line is ESPN.com and their rumor mill. One of the ways that I judge rumors and their validity is to look at the number of places that they are showing up. If I see a rumor here, then on ESPN.com, and hear a commentator make mention of it, there might be some validity to it. The fantasy reads also help me judge who to keep on my roster here, and they also give me an idea of who I would like to see the Avs trade for, or keep.

If all of these sites don't get you your fill of hockey I don't know what will. Next up Minnesota, and Lemaire's awful trapping system. Hopefully, they can break that trap.
