Dumont gets the goal and everybody gets ready to start singing "I like it", then huh. What is that? A new goal song in Nashville. From the few folks around me they didn't seem to like the change. Tradition is tough to alter. We will see if this follows through to the regular season.
After the Canes win here are my thoughts on a couple players.
JP Dumont - Good game. Setup Hornqvist and Arnott all night long. Strong on the puck. Even got a goal. A+
Patric Hornqvist - Got to play on the top line since Sullivan was a scratch due to the groin strain. Had many chances all night long. Buried a shot on the PP from a tough angle. Had the assist on the Dumont goal. The downside is he missed the net on many of the chances he did get. B
Dan Hamhuis - How was he a minus 1? He looked out of sync all night long. Late to the puck, bad decisions and some bad luck (whiffing on the point shot leading to a breakaway by the Canes). Need a much stronger game from him in the regular season. D
The regular season is coming closer. Only 1 more pre-season game remaining.
Until then.
