I was putting together a poll the other day about who people thought would take home the Norris Trophy, and I came across what was an insane stat to me. Christian Ehrhoff is leading all defensemen in +/- with a +16!?! Not only that, but he has 7 goals and 11 assists for 18 points on the season so far (3 of which are PP points). Most amazingly of all, he has 70 SOG with a 10% shooting percentage!!! He has only gone a -2 once over the course of the season thus far and has had two +3 nights. Now, these aren't spectacular stats, but he is definitely shaping up to have a career year if he continues as he has, and I haven't gotten to my comparison yet....
Marc-Eduoard Vlasic, or as I like to call him, Pickles, is a +2, has 2 goals and 8 assists for a total of 10 points (none of which are PP points). He only has 43 SOG for a 4.3% shooting percentage. Furthermore, Pickles has never been +3, has gone -2 three times, and has even gone -4 on one occasion.
Now that I've thrown a crap load of stats at you, I ask...
Since the move was totally a salary dump on the part of DW to clear space for Heatley's hefty contract, should the Sharks have traded Pickles with his 4 year, $3.1 million cap hit as opposed to Ehrhoff's 3 year, $3.1 million dollar cap hit? Or do you think the stats are skewed and Ehrhoff is just benefiting from being in a new system/scene and Vlasic's numbers are just a result of the way the Sharks are playing as a whole?
On this page, they have discussed San Jose Sharks. The San Jose Sharks are a professional ice hockey team. black label whiskey It's a great team. I like sports very much. I used to watch their matches. Their coach Bob Boughner is a great coach.
