A successful homestand

We have definitely been improving. The Rangers needed this homestand to get a confidence boost.

Here are the offensive stats from the past six games:

Dawes 3g
Prucha 1g (shootout GWG), 2a
Dubinsky 1a
Jagr 2g, 3a
Roszival 1g, 2a
Mara 1a
Shanahan 3g, 3a
Drury 1g, 3a
Staal 1a
Gomez 1g, 2a
Tyutin 2a
Girardi 1a

They've been low scoring games, but my count is 32 offensive points divided in those six games (not counting Prucha's shootout winner). People expect Shanny and Jagr to lead in the goals category, but Gomez and Drury have helped in the assisting as well.

Yes, that's only 11 goals in 6 games, but that's also 10 out of 12 points in the standings. One thing that angers me is the consistent bashing of our offense. I wouldn't mind winning every game 10-0, but that won't happen.

What should we look forward to?

We've been playing defensively sound hockey. It's not quite the old Devils' trap (as we are letting 20-30 shots), but they have been lots of forced-to-the-outside shots, but when a quality chance came up, Lundqvist has kept it out of the net.

We have plenty to hope for because we are shutting the other team down. Our offense is starting to click, despite injuries.

Shanahan told us to have faith, and I think it is paying off more each game.
