My take on the new jerseys - so far…

After watching a few pre season games, I thought I would offer up my take on the new jerseys that the teams are wearing.
Anaheim Ducks - This is the same jersey as they wore in route to winning the Stanley Cup and I'm glad that they left it alone.
Los Angeles Kings - The Kings only made a few minor tweaks to their jersey in the off season and it still works. They removed the strip from the bottom of their jersey but left Los Angeles although it's a little lower on the jersey.
San Jose Sharks - WOW... I don't know where to start with this one.... So I'm just going to say it... This is the ugliest jersey in the NHL. I saw the Sharks sporting their white jersey last night and it made me laugh. Their logo looks cartoonish, the stripes on the waist and the arms look really bad and what is with the numbers on the front of the jersey. I know they do it in Buffalo but the numbers on the Sharks jersey were so small I couldn't read them even with 20/20 vision. If I didn't know better I would have thought this was the jersey of a Pee Wee hockey team. The Sharks need to fire who ever designed this jersey.
I can't wait to see other teams' jerseys in person and I'll let you know if I find one uglier than the Sharks.

worst jersey in the nhl is the dallas stars home dark. they dont even have a logo. it just spells dallas across the chest, and not like the old rangers and pens. this looks like they went for the mlb look with the city. just horrible.
I like the sharks revamped logo but when I initially saw the jersey I thought it was a blues jersey. If you take the two logos and switch them I think both mak more sense. I don't like the vertical stripes from shoulder to waist on the new jerseys. Nashville, Florida, Colorado and several others have adopted them and they look ridiculous. I also don't like the missing waist stripe that was indicative of Hockey jerseys for all of my life. All in all I'd say there are very few improved jerseys and many that are markedly worst. I can't believe they ruined the Avalanche jersey. It was one of my favourites.
This won't be popular with the blog writer, but I think the Ducks have the worst jersey in the NHL. Those semi-horizontal stripes that start at the right hip and end just below the left arm pit area, the lack of a real logo, the boring and very corporate-like colors, the goofy looking font. I also noticed this season that the "C" or the "A" the captain and alternates wear looks almost as big as half the word "Ducks". Seriously, its a hideous looking jersey, but that's just my opinion. Of course, the reply I'll get from defensive Ducks' fans won't be a logical argument as to why they like it, it will be all about how I can criticize it being a Canucks fan. Well, I'll tell you this, I'd take the Canucks jersey and its gorgeous colors (and dubious wordmark) over this excuse for a jersey any day. BTW, the Sharks jersey is miles ahead of the Ducks jersey. It looks very classic and retro. I don't like the shoulder marks or the numbers on the front, but the horizontal stripes and overall design looks great. Very original. I agree with GoalieGuy95, the Dallas home jersey is horrible, right up there with the Ducks.
I like the sharks shoulder marks but think they are misplaced. The full shark should be the main logo and the shoulder marks should be the shark fin in the diamond. I agree with Nashcity in that the full shark as a shoulder mark is bad but not a bad logo. I don't like the fact that they added yellow to their Jersey. I like the Canucks Jersey so I'm in the minority, again, I would have used a different crest. The Ocra just doesn't make sense any more. Of course it's better than the skate. With the resurgence of the popularity of the stick-in-rink I was hoping they'd bring it back as the main.
i agree the ducks jersey does suck TO PLAIN but who can complain my teams jersey sucks, i give it a yr before they change there jersey. a hella sick one is dallas home jersey and the panthers those are hella Sick.
The Sharks new jersey sucks big time! They should lose the number on the front, increase the front crest by 25%, put the fin logo on th shoulders, and lose the shoulder color bands. The it might be all right. They'll find that they won't sell many - too pricey and too pukey.
