Speaking to a source close to the Rangers front office, I've been informed that the Rangers are willing to swing a deal for Sens defensemen Wade Redden. I have also been told that if it doesn't happen, the Rangers will look at Jovo again, but will most likely go into opening night as is. Also, watch for Hossa to be moved. The Sharks have made an offer.

I have much more information, but I need to get to a notebook. Typing this out on my iphone is horrible.

Also, look for Peca to end up with the Rangers if he take their one year offer. The Islanders are also players.

And the Habs are working on something big. Don't know all of it yet, but ill work on it.

My question who are they getting rid of?
July 27, 2007 7:05 PM ET | Delete
Redden is counting his days in Ottawa. He's been asked to waive his NTC three times thus far (most recent for one-for-one trade with San Jose for Patrick Marleau)I could see Redden for Sean Avery Marc Staal

avery and marc staal are too high a price to pay for someone in his last year of a contract. The Rangers seem to have cap issues as it is, I can't understand them taking on Redden's salary.

so does this mean that avery won't return? cause they're gonna have to dump someone with a big paycheck and i know phoenix has just under 30 million in payroll (so says nhlnumbers) so i can see them dealing for jovo. the only problem is that jovo's cap hit is 6.5 and the highest ranger d-man makes 3mil in paul mara so multiple guys would have to be dealt if the rangers would happen to gain cap space. and they want peca and redden (redden has a 6.5 cap hit too)

From what I hear, I don't see the Rangers getting rid of Avery. If they do land Redden, the names that have been talked about were prospects Al Montoya, Paul Mara and Marek Malik.

Code where have you been all this while? I've been searching every last crevis on the internet for for you.

To be honest with you all, I really didn't think I'd build such a huge responds from all you Hockey fans when I started to reports about trades and signings. It got to a point where I was getting up to 600 emails per day. There came a point where I really got burnt out. I didn't feel I could give 100% to all my reports anymore. But now I'm refreshed, and I understand what I started, and I'm just really excited to get going. I've got more contacts now, and I just feel great.

ek said last week that jagr wasnt happy with the rangers not bringing back nylander.... so maybe they are looking to move jagr to open up capspace?
July 28, 2007 1:12 PM ET | Delete

July 28, 2007 4:13 PM ET | Delete
Q the sharks made an offer for who. hossa or redden?
July 28, 2007 10:34 PM ET | Delete
Do you realize how dumb some of these comments are? Trading Jagr? Are you kidding me? trading Sean Avery and our TOP PROSPECT Marc Staal for someone elses garbage in Wade Redden?. You people are insane. Trading Jagr, the biggest bargain in the NHL with his 4.94 million dollar cap hit might be the dumbest thing I've ever seen on this site, only second to this ridiculous Redden trade.

tjcode is a fraud. "Code" was about 3 different people on hockeynations.com, none of whom had any actual contacts. When he was finally revealed as a fraud, he shut down hockeynations.com after taking people for thousands of dollars. Eklund should put a stop to this guy as soon as possible before he destroys any credibility this site has.
