Leafland has always been the first to throw prospects under the bus and trade trade trade for a decent run at the playoffs, and mostly they have been dead wrong.....Until Now.
Never in recent memory has leafland been so packed with decent not spectacular prospects but decent ones, They have a plethora of draft picks now and in the future. So what does one do?
I think this is the splash year, The buds are young enough on the ice to justify trading a few but not all assets, There is money to spend via FA and Shanahan will likely want to make a massive splash. So here are my thoughts going in on what can be done, note I have NOT checked the cap numbers as I do not know what they will be.
1st - Offer Colorado a 5th upgraded to a third and a fourth for rights to Stastny if we can sign him possibly 6.5-7 per on a 6 year deal. His puck possession stats were great and he can deal the puck to clarkson and lupul easily, a defibate upgrade on leadership and attitude from knock me off the puck, and falll to the ice dirty hitting Kadri.
2cnd- Gardiner 2015 1st and Reimer to Edmonton for the third pick overall.
3rd- 3rd overall,Peter Grannberg, Nazem Kadri, Peter Holland, Tyler Biggs to Nashville for Shea Weber and a second rounder.
4th- Sign Bolland for the money he wants but with a 3 year opt out clause front loaded.
5th-Steve Ott......Leadership irritating leafs need that more than Orr or McClaren
6th-Bring Komorov back
7-McClement resigned 3 years
8-See what Dan Boyle wants reasonably and if you can fit him in leadership needed, Shawn Thornton as well, and brooks Orpik. Marty Broduer or Giguere to back up and mentor Bernier
Nice wish list and I doubt its cap obtainable but wouldnt this look nice in blue and white.

This looks like an NHL14 team, but everyone would sign up for it. I dont see how the Avs dont sign Stasny now. But im intrigued with the Edmonton trade, they get a goalie and a top 2 pair dman to move down in a weak draft
