Who's Leading the NHL in Penalty Minutes?

Would it be Brashear or Pronger or Boll or Godard or Parker or Boogaard or Chara or Neil? None of these guys hold that distinction. Instead, there is Tie Domi incarnate leading the league and his name is Daniel Carcillo. Who.......? What team does he play for......? The Phoenix Coyotes. Those of you in the west may have guessed it right because you've seen this 5'11" (official but overstated) Ontario, Canada native badger everyone on your favorite team at least once by now. There is probably a good chance he has even taken on your "tough guy" and fared pretty well. Carcillo is not your prototypical fighter or enforcer and yet, he has dropped the gloves 7 times already with the likes of Jared Boll, Travis Moen, Jamal Mayers, and Mark Bell. He is the kind of guy you love to hate if you are not a Phoenix fan. With 11 points so far this season, he can produce points as well and is the 5th leading point man on the Coyotes. He is one of the pieces of a young Phoenix team that is starting to make some noise in the NHL. Teams are starting to find out who Daniel Carcillo is and as for me, he is at a minimum, fun to watch. It is hard not to pull for the underdog and at 5'11", Daniel Carcillo may just be that guy.

During the leafs/yotes game, there were times when he would just be a menace on the ice, in a good way mind you. He hits, hard and isn't dirty or a diver. He is Avery, just not "Avery"

Hey DF07 - I've made a note of Mr. Carcillo (he was definitely under my radar) and look forward to closer scrutiny the next time I get to see him play. He'll be here in Feb, so at that point it'll be up close. Thanks for the heads-up.
