According to Helene St. James of the Detroit Free Press and TSN, the Sharks have hired Red Wings assistant coach Todd McLellan as their next head coach, two weeks after letting Ron Wilson go. McLellan cancelled a scheduled meeting with Thrashers' GM Don Waddell to discuss their head coaching vacancy.

Excellent hire, very good hockey guy. Will help develop the Sharks' power play even more, which was his duty in Detroit.
McLellan is expected to be introduced Thursday at the HP Pavilion, 11 a.m. local time.

wow, who saw this coming?
If you can't beat 'em, steal one of their assistants.
He has been my pick from the begining! I'm extremely happy with the pick and can't wait to see how next season plays out :)
I think it's a great hire. Better talent than in Atlanta.
As a Detroit fan, i'm sad to see him go... i wonder how the wings are going to react to this change in their coaching staff.
