Kings 2, Stars 3/SO
Mike Ribeiro scored the lone goal in the shootout as the Stars beat the Kings 3-2. Ribeiro also tied the game with 1:12 left in regulation, and also racked up an assist. For LA, Alexander Frolov tied the game at two with just 17 seconds left in regulation, but it was not enough for the Kings, as they lost their fourth game in a row. Dustin Brown also scored for the Kings. Erik Ersberg made 32 saves for Los Angeles, and Marty Turco stopped 20 shots for Dallas.

Hurricanes 1, Sabres 3
Tim Connolly scored twice, Ryan Miller made 36 saves, and the Sabres defeated the Hurricanes 3-1. The injury prone Connolly has been in and out of the lineup, and with his two goals tonight, he now has 4 markers on the season. Thomas Vanek assisted on both Connolly goals. Teppo Numminen also scored for the Sabres, who will begin a 6 game road trip Monday in Florida. For Carolina, Ray Whitney scored the lone goal as the Canes have struggled of late. Cam Ward made 23 saves for the Canes tonight.

Canadiens 5, Senators 4/SO
Alex Kovalev scored the game winning shootout as the Canadiens defeated the Senators 5-4. Montreal led for the majority of the game, but the Sens fought back to tie the game and get it into the shootout. Kovalev, Andrei Kostitsyn, Matt D'Agostini, and Tom Kostopoulous scored for Montreal. Dany Heatley scored twice for the Sens, as their two game winning streak was snapped. Jaroslav Halak stopped 23 shots to get the win for Montreal. Brian Elliott made 28 saves for the Sens.

Devils 3, Islanders 1
Travis Zajac scored a shorthanded goal, Scott Clemmensen stopped 32 shots, and the Devils defeated the Isles 3-1. New Jersey extended their winning streak to four consecutive games. Zajac's shorthanded goal came in the first period, when John Madden was in the box for high-sticking. Zach Parise scored a powerplay goal and assist for the Devils. Blake Comeau scored the lone goal for the Isles, as they had an eventful day. Wade Dubielewicz was supposed to sign with the Isles, but the Blue Jackets claimed him off waivers. With Dubie not there, Yann Danis started. Danis made 33 saves for the Isles.

Bruins 1, Capitals 2
Alexander Semin scored the go ahead goal in the third period, as the Capitals defeated the Bruins 2-1 in a matchup of two of the top three teams in the Eastern Conference. Early in the second period, Marc Savard scored a power play goal for the B's, but that lead did not last long. Just 1:10 later, with Matt Lashoff in the box, Mike Green scored on the man advantage to tie the game at 1. Even though Tim Thomas made 28 saves for the Bruins, it was not enough, as their four game winning streak was snapped. Jose Theodore stopped 23 shots for the Caps.

Panthers 4, Lightning 3
The Florida Panthers scored three second period goals to defeat the Lightning 4-3. Early on, it looked as if Tampa Bay was going to roll to an easy victory, but after Craig Anderson was pulled, the Panthers got a spark. Tomas Vokoun shut out the Bolts from the second period on, as he made 22 saves to help Florida get a victory. Jay Bouwmeester scored the go ahead goal on the power play in the second period. J-Bo has been on fire of late, and he continued that tonight. Gregory Campbell, Cory Stillman, and Richard Zednik also lit the lamp for the Cats. Vinny Lecavalier scored a goal and an assist, but it wasn't enough for the Bolts. Mike Smith stopped 17 shots for Tampa Bay.

Thrashers 7, Predators 2
Zach Bogosian scored his first career NHL goal and assist, as the Thrashers destroyed the Predators 7-2. Bogosian scored the goal early in the third period to give the Thrashers a 7-2 lead. Atlanta peppered Dan Ellis early, as he gave up three goals on four shots in the first period. Ellis was pulled for Pekka Rinne, and he didn't fare much better. He made 24 saves on 28 shots. Ilya Kovalchuk scored a goal and assist for Atlanta. Shea Weber and Jordin Tootoo scored goals for the Predators. Kari Lehtonen had a nice performance, as he made 31 saves on the night.

Blackhawks 2, Blues 1/OT
Martin Havlat scored the game winning goal in overtime as the Blackhawks defeated the Blues 2-1. Chicago and St. Louis exchanged power play goals in this game, as Troy Brouwer lit the lamp in the first period, while David Backes put the puck in the net in the third period. Cristobal Huet made 27 saves for the Hawks, while Manny Legace stopped 19 shots for St. Louis.

Ducks 3, Wild 0
Corey Perry scored twice, and Jonas Hiller stopped 30 shots to shutout the Wild 3-0. Hiller was outstanding in this game, and he got enough offense tonight. Perry's first goal was on the powerplay in the second period, and then Perry scored with 24 seconds left in regulation to pad the lead for Anaheim. Niklas Backstrom stopped 31 shots for Minnesota, but he got zero offense in this game. You could thank Jonas Hiller for that. Anaheim has been struggling of late, so this win was big for them.

Coyotes 4, Flames 3
Mikael Boedker scored a goal and an assist, Ilya Bryzgalov made 29 saves, and the Coyotes defeated the Flames 4-3. Peter Mueller, Olli Jokinen, and David Hale also scored for Phoenix. Mike Cammalieri scored twice for the Flames, and Miikka Kiprusoff made 22 saves for Calgary.

Red Wings 5, Sharks 6
Dan Boyle scored a power play goal and an assist, Ryane Clowe had four assists, and the Sharks defeated the Red Wings 6-5. This was a barn-burner, as both teams went back and fourth. The matchup here tonight could be a potential Western Conference Finals matchup. Christian Ehrhoff and Jonathan Cheechoo scored power play goals for the Sharks, while Douglas Murray and Marc-Edouard Vlasic had two assists. For Detroit, Marian Hossa scored a power play goal and two assists. Henrik Zetterberg scored a goal and an assist, while Pavel Datsyuk dished out two assists. Chris Osgood made 35 saves in this game for Detroit. For the Sharks, Evgeni Nabokov made 29 saves in the victory.
