Well he SHOULD be! In the first OT, Alfredsson lept from his skates and pounded a defenseless Henrik Tallinder from behind. This one of the most egregious/dirty boarding incidents I have ever seen in my life and Alfredsson gets not even a deuce for his trouble.
Tallinder nearly broke his neck. Alfredsson should have gotten a major and been tossed from the game. Take that missed call along with the phantom penalties that gave Ottawa the 5 on 3 in the second period… and Buffalo was fighting an uphill battle against the refs tonight.
Buffalo has been the benefactor of many fortunate calls during the first 2 rounds… so they should expect the law of averages to take hold at some point.
All that said, Ottawa outplayed Buffalo again… plain and simple. MAJOR props to Ryan Miller for another stellar game. He made "huge save" after "huge save" especially in OT.
So… the million-dollar question… can the Sabres take two in Ottawa? I offer two thoughts to prove that it’s possible.
1. They did it last year
2. Ottawa just did it to us
Keep the faith Sabres fans. If any team can get back after going down 2 – 0, it’s these guys.
And besides, Ottawa’s best player will be suspended for game three… RIGHT?
Thanks Garth jr, aka skip bayless jr, aka just another annoying sabres fan
Buffalo is cooked.
Ok I know you are mad because of the loss but seriously 25K and only a 1 game suspension????dont make NHL discipline more of joke than it already is
by that i mean if they are gonna dish out 25k he would be gone longer
Well this is one blog that deserves to end here. Cleon, why post a fictitious headline and specious comment if all you want is to be read? That is akin to publishing a worthless rag with made up stories and hoping to attract both readers and advertisers. But hey, you got 4 of us that were stupid enough to read and comment so you can take something out of that.
Well... I thought it was a clever.
I'm so sick and tired of Lindy and Sabres nation whining about Alfies supposed hit from behind (everywhere from blindsided to cross check have been toss around). If Lindy and the Sabres nation want to complain about hits from behind, how about we discuss Campbells hit from behind in open ice which directly lead to the Sabres scoring with 5secs left. However, you won't hear that. Like usual, Lindy and Co. would rather cry to the media and claim victim status yet again.
I should clarify, the hit from behind was on Chris Kelly.
Please don't bother blogging again...seriously.Or better yet, just blog about something no one cares about - like the Sabres.
