Off the top I'd Like to say that I Love the Winter classic and I will watch no matter what teams are playing, but with that said the game should be directed towards the non-typical hockey fans and Markets. The NHL doesnt have the Luxury of having 15 to 20 National games a week, the have 15 to 20 national games a YEAR, so having this game in the National Spot light is huge.

I Have an Idea that Ive been trying to perfect and I would like eveyones input into what im Saying. I LOVE the fact that the Winter Classic is in Fenway park and I think the NHL got that Right. If the Ratings are as good as the last two Winter Classics it will be because its in Fenway Not The Fact of the Flyers and Bruins. I had an Opportunity to watch a game at Fenway many years ago and I have to say it may be my favorite place to watch a Game.

Now heres where im gonna start spitballing, What if the NHL made the Game a Neutral Site Game in Non-hockey markets with great Venues, Like Camden Yard In Baltimore or Lambeu Field in Wisconsin.

I feel if the NHL REALLY wants to Expand then going to Non-NHL markets would really work. Think about it, People in thoughs areas who wouldnt normally go to a hockey game might have a interest if one is in there proximity. I have been a Hockey fan for everyone of my 32 years on this planet, but i didnt fall in love with the sport until i went to my first game and could you imagine how many fans this would create?? not only getting to watch your First NHL game , but Outdoors and with 60 to 80 thousand fans I dont think there would be anything cooler.

I think you could make it a Rivalry game or a Stanley Cup Rematch or Conference Final Rematch or even Player Vs Player Matchup like Ovie n Semin Vs. Sid n Malkin, the Possibilities are Endless......

Give me some sort of Feed back on my Idea n if anyone that is associated with the NHL likes this Idea then Pass on this Idea.... Thanks Sabre4Life

Hockey has always been a game to see live. I also like how you are trying to come up with different ideas. The only problem I see with the neutral location is the only people who will buy tickets are the fans of the teams. People who have never been to a game are not going to pay rediculously over priced tickets to see a game they don't know much about. The only people willing to go in debt over a outdoor game are fans of the teams playing. Good job though.

i cant agree with you more. they just did it at wrigley, and the only people that want to see the flyers are philly fans. they should let boston grow a little. bad choice on this one, and it only makes the nhl look bad.

A neutral site is a good idea but there aren't many neutral sites that aren't in non hockey markets that can host this game. I worry about the ice the players play on, even though they managed to hold a preseason game in Vegas many, many years ago.

A Game at Camden Yards would be amazing and a NHL game at Lambeu Field would hopefully bring a great tradition one of the most recoizable venues in the us

I find it funny a Sabre fan is talking about star power when Bruins have the reigning Vezina and Norris and Buffalo has....idk, plus you can only do Crosby vs Ovechkin so many times.
