Week 1 is just about under our belts and there are many story lines to the fantasy hockey season. No time to panic (yet). We'll save that for next week. Here is what you need to know for week 2 (10/18 to 10/24):

Matchups
Teams with 2 Games: Detroit, Edmonton, Florida, Montreal, Philadelphia, Phoenix
Teams with 4 Games: Calgary, Chicago, Nashville, NY Rangers, San Jose, Tampa Bay

If you're looking for teams to focus in on this week, I would stack up on Chicago and Tampa Bay. Both teams have four games this week, with 3 at home. Tampa has some fairly favorable matchups in there as well, with games against Dallas, the Isles, Atlanta and Nashville.

On the downside, your Habs may not produce much this week, with just one home game against the Devils and an away match in Ottawa.

Who's Hot

It's all about Hawks, Leafs and Avalanche so far this season, as some of the big names in the NHL have been slow to get rolling. Here are a few players who have stood out through 1 week of play:

Marian Hossa (F-CHI)
Hossa ended the playoffs cold as ice, but has turned things around to start the season off. As of Thursday, he leads the NHL with 6 points (3/3) in 4 games.

Alex Goligoski (D-PIT)
Despite the slow start for the Pens, Goligoski has been stellar. His 2 goals and 2 assists in four games doesn't do justice to how well he's played.

Nikolai Khabibulin (G-EDM)
The Bulin Wall has defied all explanation to lead the NHL in goaltending through the first week. Despite playing behind a score of kids and ignoring all legal trouble, he's put in a couple of dominating performances in net.

Who's Cold

A number of stars have stumbled out of the gate, making fantasy owners question their draft strategies. I'll be following up with an article on this topic soon, but here are a few slow starters that you need not concern yourself with at this point. Keep 'em active.
• Sidney Crosby
• Nicklas Backstrom
• Jason Spezza
• Corey Perry
• Zach Parise
• Dany Heatley
• Patrick Marleau
• Tomas Vanek
• Wojtek Wolski

Waiver Watch

Clarke MacArthur (F-TOR)
While I don't recommend him as a long-term solution to your roster woes, MacArthur is certainly off to a hot start for the hot Leafs. 4 goals and an assist through 3 games is uncharacteristic for the young winger. He's starting to earn more ice time, so he may be worth a look for the short term.

David Jones (F-COL)
Jones has started strong, with 2 goals and an assist in the first week of play. As long as he holds his spot on the second line in Colorado, he's worth rostering in deep leagues.

Anders Lindback (G-NAS)
With Rinne out for who knows how long, Lindback will be filling the void. He looked solid in his first effort, and is worth considering for some short-term help in net on your roster. He's owned in a whopping 7% of CBS leagues right now.

Corey Crawford (G-CHI)
Not sure why, but Crawford is still only owned in < 1/4 of leagues out there. He'll see plenty of action over the course of the season. If Turco continues to struggle early, the Hawks will go to him more and more.

Daily Fantasy Players to Target

If you're playing daily leagues on Fanduel this weekend, here are a few players to target that are currently undervalued:

Left Wing (top value is Alex Ovechkin at 9,900)
• Ville Leino (PHI) - 4,100
• David Booth (FLA) - 4,900

Right Wing (top value is Alex Semin at 8,000)
• Nino Niederreiter (NYI) - 3,100
• Jiri Hudler (DET) - 3,200
• David Jones (COL) - 4,600
• Claude Giroux (PHI) - 5,100

Center (top value is Sidney Crosby at 8,100)
• Eric Tangradi (PIT) - 3,200
• Jordan Eberle (EDM) - 3,400

Defense (top value is Mike Green at 7,200) -- not worth spending the money on defense...
• Alex Pietrangelo (STL) - 3,200
• P.K. Subban (MON) - 3,800
• Cam Fowler (ANA) - 3,000

Goalie (top value is Ryan Miller at 8,300) -- make sure they're starting before hand...
• Corey Crawford (CHI) - 3,400
• Sergei Bobrovsky (PHI) - 3,400

Don't forget, Fanduel is featuring their huge $755 shootout this Saturday. Entry is $10. (http://partners.fanduel.c...ckthrgh.asp?btag=a_440b_4
