Welcome to week 14 of the Fantasy Planner, getting you ready for next week's fantasy hockey action. (1/4 through 1/10).

Week 14 Matchups
Teams with 4 games: Anaheim, Boston, Calgary, Chicago, Columbus, Dallas, NY Rangers, Ottawa, Toronto
Teams with 2 games: Edmonton

Although 3 of their 4 games this week are on the road, the Flames have the most favorable schedule this week, as they face off against Minnesota, Nashville, Vancouver, and Columbus.

Edmonton is the only team with a meager 2 games on the schedule this week; however, both of those games are at home.

Waiver Watch
Here are a few names who may be available in your league and are worth a look:

Michael Leighton (G - PHI)
While you shouldn’t be counting on him for the long run, you could benefit in the short term by adding Leighton to your lineup. Sure, he wasn't able to stick in Carolina (bad sign), he seems to be the best option right now in Philly until Emery returns. He's been playing well since signing with the Flyers.

Scott Gomez (F - MON)
Gomez got off to a horrible start this season, prompting many fantasy owners to drop him in November. He's been on a hot streak lately, and appears to be worthy of starter consideration once more. Take a look and see if he's still available in your league. Remember, this guy has proven he can be a point a game player.

Alex Steen (F - TOR)
14 points isn't much to be excited about for a fantasy forward, but a closer look shows that he has 4 goals and 5 points in his past 4 games. He also had a four point night a couple weeks back against the Oilers. Could it be that Steen is reaching his potential, or he is just suckering you into to picking him up? Keep an eye on him for the next week before making any moves.

Andy McDonald (F - STL)
It's hard to figure out the Blues this season, and McDonald is no exception. He was virtually absent for the first two months of the season, but December was good to the short winger. He has 6 goals in his past 7 games and 11 points in his past 11 games. The Blues don't seem to have many things going well right now, but it may be worth taking a risk on McDonald.
