Welcome to week 13 of the Fantasy Planner, getting you ready for next week's fantasy hockey action. (12/28 through 1/3).

[url]Week 13 Matchups
Teams with 4 games: Anaheim, Atlanta, Calgary, Chicago, Columbus, Edmonton, Los Angeles, Minnesota, Montreal, New Jersey, Ottawa, Phoenix, Pittsburgh, San Jose
Teams with 2 games: Florida, Toronto

Not a strong week to be starting Panthers and Leafs, as both teams have just 2 games, while other teams are facing 3 or 4. The Leafs play both games on the road, while the Panthers have to face the Penguins, a team they haven't had much success against lately.

The Senators are banged up, but if you've got some of the healthy ones, you may be able to cash in this week, as the team is blessed with four home games, including the Isles and Flyers. The Coyotes, Sharks and Flames each have 3 of 4 games this week at home.

Who's Hot

Anyone wearing a Blackhawks Uniform
Patrick Kane has 12 points in his last 7 games. Over that span, Jonathan Toews has 10, and both Duncan Keith and Brian Campbell are contributing with over a point a game. It doesn't seem to matter who's in net either, as both goalies have been winning big. Look for any available viable Hawks to fill out your roster while they're hot.

Andrei Markov (D - MON)
I still don't count him as an elite fantasy defenseman, but there's no denying he's been solid for the Habs since coming back last week. He has 3 goals and 3 assists in 4 games.

Jaroslav Halak (G - MON)
A huge reason for Montreal's recent hot streak, Halak has been on fire, winning 4 of his last 5 games with a GAA under 2.

Who's Cold

Travis Zajac (F - NJ)
Zajac hasn't registered a point in 5 games now and has just 5 points in 12 games in December. Early in the season, he seemed to be developing in to a solid fantasy option, but it looks like we need to hold off judgment for a while. The Devils have been doing fine without his contribution. Look for him to snap the skid soon.

Matt Moulson (F - NYI)
Moulson was a hot waiver option during first couple months of the season. Fantasy owners may be looking to give him back at this point. He's scoreless in 6 games and is a -6 over that stretch.

Waiver Watch
Here are a few other names who may be available in your league and are worth a look:

Brad Boyes (F - STL)
Fantasy owners were starting to unload Boyes last month after a rocky start. Looks like they'll be regretting that decision soon. He's started to turn things around, climbing 50 spots in the scoring list over the last 2 weeks. The goals have been slow to come, but he has 8 assists in his last 8 games. If he's out there, do something about it.

Todd Bertuzzi (F - DET)
Look out now, but Todd Bertuzzi is looking to become relevant once more. He just cracked the top 100 after scoring 10 points in his last 8 games. Even more impressive: 8 of those points were goals. He's now on pace for 25 goals this season, which he hasn't done since 2005 in Vancouver.

Kurtis Foster (D - TAM)
It's been a long road back for Foster since breaking his leg in Minnesota two years back. At the time, he was an up and coming fantasy defenseman. Now, he's the forgotten man. He's making a charge at the moment, scoring 6 points in his last 6 games.
