It's December 1st and all the Bobby Ryan chatter over the last few days I couldn't help but notice the NHL Deadline is less than 3 months away. Another intriguing factor of this year's deadline is all the potential stars that could be on the move. Parise, Ryan, Iginla, Luongo, Nash, Carter, Weber, Suter, Hemsky, Alfredsson, Spezza, Stastny, Lecavalier, Semin, Bouwmeester, and Doan. Those are just the names that have come up in the rumor mill so far in a young season there could be more to come. Of course also you will have your 2nd tier of players like Cogliano, Gagner, Sakku Koivu, Gomez, Wolski, Nabokov, Bernier, Lydman, Okposo, Bourque, Pitkanen, Tuomo Ruuto, and Visnovsky. Although another interesting angle to look at is with all this big name players available, the deadline may still be slow. Parity rules the NHL and in ever city except Long Island, Anaheim, Calgary, and Columbus your team has playoffs hopes. Unless the field starts to seperate we could see very little movement with all the big name players due to teams trying to make a playoff push. I myself hope for a lot of movement makes the 2nd half of the season exciting.
Bruce Boudreau wasn't out of work long as he landed a new gig with the Ducks last night. That move should silence the Bobby Ryan rumors for the time being, but if the Ducks don't rebound look for a trade around deadline time.
How long now until Randy Carlyle has another job? I don't think it will be long the Jets, Kings, and Jackets could be looking for a new bench boss rather soon. If he makes it through the season without a job, I think he could end up in Toronto with Brian Burke depending on how the Leafs season ends.
Speaking of coaches outside of a large collapse Kevin Dineen will win the Jack Adams award.
This should be a very interesting month for a lot of teams espcially the Sabres, they need to have a good month and try to distance themselves from the lower pack. The good news is its not longer November for Boston, there's a lot of division games this month, and the team is getting healthier.
