Inconsistency seems to be theme in Hockey Heaven these days. After another home loss to the struggling Islanders, with the Sabres putting up 1 goal on Al Montoya it may be time to worry. Roy, Stafford, and Leino continue to be ice cold and struggle. Roy had 2 point blank chances to tie it on a 5 on 3 and was stoned once and missed the net on the second chance. Leino had a perfect pass from MA Gragnani for a tap in with Montoya out to lunch, but he pulled a classic Leino and fell down. All he had to do was stop the puck and he could of fell down still and scored instead it went through Leino's 5 hole. Speaking of Gragnani will you please shoot the puck more than once a game, teams are keying on pass, thanks. Stafford hit two posts on the same shot just can't buy a break. Vanek has gone cold as well but he continues to be a horse and create chances. Enroth can be thrown into the inconsistency category as well, played well last night but was awful against Columbus, could be fatigue though. Miller should be back within a week which will help the situation. With a tough December on its way starting with Detroit and Nashville this weekend it could be a make or break month for this team.

On a good note Ehrhoff played 32 minutes last night! He just continues to get comfortable and be exactly what the Sabres expected. How about Brayden McNabb?? He pounded Frans Nielsen with a neutral zone check and sent his stick into orbit on the hit. I love the hit but almost cost the team a goal with McNabb getting out of position. The kid will learn when to take his shots but love that he's willing to lower the boom. Kassian got into his first NHL fight which is a good sign in his progress, other than that though eh? He needs more time in Rochester he will go back down as soon as Ennis is ready, but I like his potential. Now on to Luke Adam the kid is playing a lot better since being demoted and I think Lindy needs to get him back up with Pommer and Vanek. That line was rolling and the Sabres were winning when that line was going. I don't know what Ruff's obsession with Hecht being a top six forward is but it needs to stop. Hecht has played well since his return but has no business being above a 3rd line center. Pommer and Vanek are to quick and creative for Hecht's game, thats why Adam fit well with them.

Now lets get to the trade rumors, first the easy one Miller said the report out of Edmonton is garbage, as I assumed it was. Miller wants to stay here and has no reason to want to be moved. Enroth had his chance to take Miller's job and fell flat on his face, should give the Sabres an appreciation for what they have in Miller and Enroth as a duo.

Bobby Ryan....well Ducks had scouts in the First Niagara Center last night taking along with Ducks GM Bob Murray. Of course I would love to see Bobby Ryan in Pegulaville Blue and Gold but it is going to cost a lot! Here are a couple trade possibilites I could see working if this is going to happen:
1. Stafford, Grags/Sekera/Schiestal, and 1st rd pick for Ryan
2. Stafford, Miller, and Dman from above for Ryan and Hiller
The only reason I threw Miller in the 2nd one is because he I think he would Drive to Anaheim if he had to to be closer to his Wife in SoCal, but if Miller goes Hiller has to come back in the deal. Things could get interesting in around Pegulaville in the upcoming weeks, as Bart Scott would say...Can't Wait!!
