Christmas Time!
Sorry for not getting a blog up sooner as I had expected to yesterday at some point. Christmas time is here and I have plenty of shopping still left. I will be traveling to Toronto, Ottawa and Kingston (kind of like a hockey road trip). With that being said I will be writing in between the madness. In the spirit of the season Sullivan (See above) decided to pose for the blog. Also of interest I will be at the Calgary Ottawa game on the 30th in one of the box's.
Bourque
As many of you were probably wondering the fate of Rene Bourque, we have our answer. Rene was given a hearing in which he was assessed a suspension for two games due to his check on Brent Seabrook. I have to say that I agree with the call, although the referee does get in the way of the puck and the play. Rene is in his 7th season and knows better then to check someone from behind into the boards. Below is the video explanation on the play.

Stajan / Byron
I have seen a few of you in my blog and in other blogs asking what the status is of Matt Stajan. Well we don't have an exact answer but what we do know is Paul Byron has been called up. Stajan suffered an ankle sprain and was placed on injured reserve with no further info at this time. Although the play of Matt Stajan was starting to come along nicely, its great to Byron get another chance on the team.
Carson / Nemisz
Yesterday we received news that Brett Carson is injured again and was placed back onto IR. Although there is no correlation, Greg Nemisz was called up to the flames roster fueling speculation that Morrison might be injured again. I guess the best thing about the injuries / suspensions is getting a chance to watch the young guys play and develop. I think in spurts is the best way to get them accustomed to playing at the NHL level.
Quick recap of the Hawks Flames game
The flames completely blew every chance they had to take this game. They took way too many penalties including a 5 minute Major for Bourque's boarding. Sure we came back with 2 goals but what good is that? I was pretty disappointed with the effort on this night with lousy first and second periods in which Flames decided to not control the puck. One of the few things that looked alright were the hits that Sarich was throwing in the game.
Quick recap of the Wild Flames game
We finally got to check the win column beside our name again! The top line was firing on all cylinders and provided two goals in the 2-1 victory. Iginla's play looked very strong with his 1 goal and 1 assist. Jokenin is riding the wave with 4 goals and 8 assists in 8 games. We may have just taken advantage of a tired wild team but either way a win is a win.
Game Day
Tonight Calgary will be playing the Wings on the tail end of a back to back at home. Hopefully we are able to take advantage of them in the same way we did the wild. Of course we are hoping the #1 line continues its rampage, but the other lines really need to get involved tonight if we have any chance of winning. The Wings are a strong team and have looked pretty impressive this year. In the last ten games against Detroit Calgary has only Posted 3 wins and points in 5 of those matches. With Iginla sitting at 497 goals we might see him fight hard tonight to try and squeak out the hat trick (After tonight Calgary plays seven straight road games). Paul Byron should be back in the lineup again tonight with Bourque and Stajan out.
The lines tonight should look something like this
* Alex Tanguay is injured with undisclosed injury *
Forwards
1 - Glencross / Jokinen / Iginla
2 - Comeay / Backlund / Stempniak
3 - Byron / Horak / Nemisz
4 - Kostopolos / Morrison / Jackman
Defense
1 - Hannan / Smith
2 - Bouwmeester / Butler
3 - Brodie / Sarich
Goal
1 - Kiprusoff
2 - Irving

What are your thoughts on the season so far? Did Bourque deserve what he got?
If Feaster wrote Santa what would he ask for?
i will be calling the SPCA, obvious abuse to be dressing a poor animal like that
btw is that a french or english bulldog? what the diffierence?
Thanks for the Blog
Have a great Holiday! At game tonight should be fun. Bourque deserved what he got. Just that Lucic should have got same for similar careless hit.
haha I just picked up Jokinen in my keeper.... He is starting to rip... Merry Christmas Flames fans... VowsWithin: Please do a blog on what you think Feaster should do to improve this team
Sullivan is an English bulldog named after the deceased drummer from Avenged Sevenfold Jimmie Sullivan. English bulldogs are bigger and more wrinkly. If this picture offends you AMO I bet you can't wait for the other one I will have coming up soon. You are lucky to get all the games there Kevin, I have 3 games a year Toronto, Montreal and Ottawa and they are 2-3 hours away.
Ahh the Boston conspiracy continues, not that they do much to make us believe otherwise. Boston has to be one of the dirties teams in the league (dirtier then Cartman's mother). Bourque got what he deserved and luckily it wasn't more. The joker is doing quite well this year B.J, I like how he has turned his game around and played well. I will get back with the Feaster blog in the near future.
Crap Alex Tanguay is injured, lineup changes.
Your dog looks like my dogs twin, just mine is rocking a Hawks jersey! Where did ya get him? I got my guy Tank in Belleville
great stuff!
Hawks fan my dog came from Arnprior, aren't bullies the best? Glad you make your dog feel stupid in a jersey too! And thanks Eklund, means a lot coming from you!
