Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the Dome
Not a Player was hanging, not even Jarome.
Their equipment was hung in their lockers with care,
In hopes that Jay Feaster would manage them fair.

The players were home with their families in bed,
While thoughts of a playoff run ran through their heads.
We beat the Wild,the wings and Canucks,
Three wins in a row its surely not luck?

Glencross and Jokinen both on a huge tear,
Each putting a puck in the net with real care.

When all through the league there arose such a clatter,
I wondered to myself "What is the matter?".
On my computer I decided to type like a flash,
Right on hockey buzz to ease the backlash.

The homers on the board all posted their notes,
And ripped on the flames "Your team blows goats!"
Befuddled and angry I looked at the stats,
And thought of some comebacks to shut up their traps!

My typing was oh so lively and quick,
Iginla, last year on the charts he was SIXTH!
They all ignored what I had just wrote,
Hes never won a cup! Blow it up!, What a joke!

At this point I realized that they lack logic,
Stats won't work now I might just need magic...
How could they say that Iginla has no talent?
Seven straight seasons he's scored 40 goals and looked Gallant.

Trade away Iginla and Kipper and Tanguay,
You need youth on your team not guys who need bengay!
Listen you assclowns, we already have us some,
What about bartschi and Horak and Byron?

At this point I realized how can you argue with a homer?
There is no way, as their brains are as useful as tumors.
Now im sure you are wondering which team's fans keep bashing?
The Edmonton Oilers who's streak early on isn't lasting.

In all fairness I realize that its all just a dream,
With a team like we have we can't play like machines.
And the playoff run that the team all dreamt up
It won't happen just as sure as Edmonton Oilers suck!

On Christmas eve I leave you with just one thought,
Will Calgary ever compete and find us some luck?
Who knows if it will ever happen?
2012 on the horizon, Please Don't send Iginla Packing!
