Phaneuf: Would you Flip Him?

Just hypothetical now, but would you flip Phaneuf to Los Angeles right now, if the return were Brayden Schenn, Ted Purcell and a first round pick?
The Leafs might have to toss in Stempniak or a Ponikarovski rental....and take back a salary like Randy Jones' $3 million.... but IF that were available - would you want it?
Phaneuf in Hollywood with his girlfriend Elisha Cuthbert?
The Kings land a power-couple to entice a few more fringe fans and show the serious fans that they are ready to go for it this year. The Leafs manage to get a blue-chip forward, a decent pick this year and an offensive minded power forward in Purcell.
Of course it might be a gamble for Toronto, and mean bailing on the current season, but would you do it?

Just a note: if such an offer were available for Phaneuf from the Kings... I don't think we'd be talking about his immediate Leaf's future right now. He'd already be in Hollywood.
LA sees Schenn as their 2nd line center of the future possibly even next season if not the season after. Only way they give up Schenn is if the deal is too good to pass up. Also you can have purcell for a bag of pucks he has been awful on offense.
HELL NO! Phaneuf has proven he can be a Norris nominee. Schenn has done nothing same as Purcell has been weak this year. If were giving Phaneuf up this quick, I'd want Kopitar at least.
Hey goleafsgo are you going to wake up and wonder if you just dreamt that? Cause you ARE dreaming. Ian White has very comparable numbers to Dianne Phaneuf this year. What have you done for me lately? Not 3 years ago? Kopitar for Phaneuf give your head a shake. Or roll over and go back to LALA land cause your dreaming.
Agreeing with Habbies in that maybe Phaneuf isn't worth Braydon Schenn right now. There's a reason he's a Leaf and it is that the Leafs were offering the most to Calgary for his services. If Schenn plus were on the board... Phaneuf would've been moved elsewhere. This doesn't mean that Phaneuf with a half season of inspired play couldn't be worth an absolute ton.
I didnt say LA had to do the deal for Kopitar, but thats what I'd be asking. Ian White is having a good year and his numbers are equal to Phaneuf who is on an off year.......................that means when Phaneuf is on a good year he will most likely have better numbers then White because Whites good year is a bad year for Phaneuf. You gotta be a real dumbass to think White will be equal to Phaneuf.

Ok OttoMan when the playoffs begin you ask yourself do I want White on my blueline or do I want Pronger or Phaneuf? White is a solid defenceman but he is no impact player like Pronger is and Phaneuf will be. Sorry Flames you guys got fleeced bad!
Schenn, Purcell AND a 1st? From the leafs side of it, it would be stupid not to do. I can't see LA accepting that deal though.
