I realize that today is Christmas and the moment we wait for all year long...BUT... thanks to Eklund's insane love for hockey and, especially, his desire to include and reward the true fans of the game, I must first use this great new platform to honor the ALL-TIME GOAL SCORING AMERICAN! Stay tuned for more about the Stars playoff run...there is nothing better than gettin...
Fellow fans, We have waited too long for the NHL to promote its own game. Instead 4 friends got together to show the best of hockey. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xDSY5-y2BRs please let us know what you think. t2MA

stars v. jackets recap

Posted Thursday | Comments 4
Stars eek out the win in the shootout. Smitty is perfect against the 6 shootout shooters he has faced. Jussi got the only shootout goal for dallas to put us on top. He looked like he was going to swing wide and try the dangle he is known for, but he saw that Norrena was expecting that and turned with the puck to slide it, more forcefully, in the puck-sized hole between the...

Modano's Milestone

Posted Thursday | Comments 0
Most of you are probably aware of this but Mike Modano of the Dallas Stars became the highest-scoring American in NHL history last night during Dallas' easy victory over the San Jose Sharks. The six-time all-star surpassed Phil Housley's record during the game and is currently sitting on a record of 1,233 points in 1,253 regular-season games -- 242 games fewer than Housley...
Ok so I am posting this a few days after the appointment of Hull and Jackson as interim co-general managers in Dallas. This whole interim co-GM thing seems to me that Hicks wants Jackson to train Hull so that Hull can take over as the man in Dallas. I don’t mind Hull as a co-gm as long as he is just the sideline guy that is there to learn the position. Jackson has been i...

On Mike Modano night. Modano tied the game in 3rd period. Nick Hagman scored the wiiner shortly after on another powerplay goal. This contest was close to the vest tight checking affair. The ducks dominated the 1st period scoring the lone tally. J.S. Gigiurre was sharp in goal. Happy Thanksgiving to all it was a nice game to be at!!

Stars at home in San Jose!

Posted Friday | Comments 0
Long time, no write...but I had to throw in my two cents on the ridiculous non-call last night and the recaps from the San Jose Sharks Staff (website) and the AP. What a joke!!! Rivet's hit on Morrow at the end of the 1st was a clear-cut, textbook boarding penalty. Yet, neither official made the call and at least one of them was starring straight at them! I thought one...
By Wednesday, October 8th, at 3pm Eastern the Stars must have their roster down from their current total of 28 to the 23 man maximum. Here is the current 28 man roster Forwards Sean Avery Krys Barch Fabian Brunnstrom Chris Conner BJ Crombeen Loui Eriksson Jere Lehtinen Joel Lundqvist Mike Modano Brenden Morrow James Neal Steve Ott Toby Petersen Konstantin...
Just a few thoughts about tonight's game ... Stars in LA ... tied 2-2 after 2. The three remaining Stars that hoisted the Cup in 1999 have made an impact in the game tonight. Like a replay of 10 years past! Most importantly, Jere Lehtinen is back and looks pretty good. He scored the first goal of the game in his first game of the season. Zubov is also looking good in ...

Stars slide by Avalanche

As the circus get's ready to complete it's first week in Big D, the Stars were able to mix in a hockey game between Avery circus . Marty Turco posted the win stopping 27 shots; outdueling Peter Budaj. Not missed in all the saves was Marek Svatos he was all over the ice creating plenty of scoring chances. Scoring with 55 seconds left on a sweet pass from Paul Stastny to tie...
WOW! Finally something to cheer about and even put to paper ... or web page, as it is! The Dallas Stars shut down and defeated the mighty - and much hated - Detroit Red Wings! If nothing else comes of this season, we can celebrate this night as our (mini) Stanley Cup victory! Clearly, the Stars have had very little to be happy about so far this season. That goes for...

Stars at the Break

Posted Thursday | Comments 0
The Dallas Stars are headed to the All-Star break after a solid 2 periods against the Florida Panthers. They finished the first half on a rare Florida road trip - Monday in Tampa Bay and tonight in Sunrise. The Stars had been stringing some wins and points together, but they blew a 2-1 lead late in the 3rd to the Bolts, and lost 4-2. Then tonight they skated out to play...

Modano-vation

Growing up, I had a bunch of hockey VHS (and eventually DVDs) that I would watch before/after a game or in my free time in order to study in an attempt to try and emulate the players on the screen. I always drew a great amount of inspiration and motivation from those sessions of sitting in front of the TV. Fast forward a number of years to today and not much has change...
