Hit on Hudler was legal. (and clean)

Brown's "controversial" hit on Hudler in game 1 of the Detroit vs Anaheim series was legal and clean. It was shoulder to shoulder and Hudler got rid of the puck less than 2 seconds before. It didn't help Hudler that he wasn't paying attention, or was slightly bent over as he was turning up the ice. The problem is that Hudler was skating in one direction, but playing the puck in the opposite direction. Therefor his head is turned around watching his back pass before it almost gets taken off. Shown in slow motion it looks bad, but in real time it's legit. The 3rd clip is a reverse angle on this you tube link, and it clearly shows Brown hitting Hudler shoulder to shoulder. Enjoy. Tonight is HNIC, can't wait to sit down with some scotch and enjoy the game.

I think its a double standard when you play against the Redwings. I agree it was a hard hit , but that is allowed in the NHL. if blood didnt come out it would have been a double minor.That being said...If blood came out of Jonas Hillers head when 6 foot 5 250 lbs J Franzan plowed in to the Ducks goalie would that have been a dirty play ? by the way no call on that play in the motor city

the hit was 900 percent clean yet somehow it draws a 5 minute major and a game?this leagueis becoming a joke
the key is to look at it in real time on the link, count the seconds, then look at it in slow mo on the 3rd angle where you see the shoulder drop for the hit. dude should be commended for hard clean hit, too many have been cheap so far. cant wait for game 2 and every other game this season love the playoffs. wish the devils were still in. waaaaa
I have to admit that when the hit first happened I was cursing Brown because he changed the momentum of the game in Detroit's favor. I thought a suspension would be coming for sure. Now, in retrospect, it does look like a clean hit. I don't blame the refs for the suspension at the time, but I commend the NHL for getting this one right.
Ridiculous. Their shoulders touch on the play, that is about the only bit of truth in this blog. If you aren't going to penalize/suspend someone for purposely trying to concuss a player when he's not looking then you might as well toss the rulebook out altogether. This play can be made literally 100 times a game but most players aren't chickensh1t enough to make it. You're gonna tell me it was technically within the rules and I should take my skirt off but use common sense for chrissakes.
It WAS a clean hit. On the other hand, the hit by Kronwall that nobody is talking about in which he left his feet AND led with an elbow is dirty. Of course it doesn't get penalized at all because, well, it's the Red Wings.
I get what gforce is saying. He's saying that Brown should yell out "Hey Hudler, Here comes the Choo-Choo Train! Look up!" before nailing him because it was somehow Brown's fault that Hudler wasn't paying attention.
Gforce, if Hudler wasnt looking up, thats his fault. They teach you that in pee-wees.
Guys, the 'don't admire your pass' or 'keep your head up' reasoning is foolish and played. Like I said, if anyone wants to purposely target a head with either of those excuses, they could. To anyone in any game. Brown's a tough kid who plays hard, but that's just bad hockey. He had his noggin in the crosshairs for 25 feet and knew it was there for the taking. NFG, sorry.
I'm a little late on this topic but - if anyone can target and headhunt, they would.This league is made of supermen, and if you think it's easy to catch someone with their head down your wrong. Brown's attempt is made by big hitters throughout the league, but it only takes a mili-second to miss or change your mind - and that's usually when the player sees you coming.
