Next Up for Burke? Two players. One you know.

With the most recent signing of two Swedes by Burke and the need remaining appearing to be scoring and penalty killing, look at the following names.
Huselius is apparently on the block in Columbus for a puck moving defenceman.
The sticking point is that the Jackets want to save salary after doing the big Nash deal.
A checking player with speed, possibly Blair Betts, who also possesses good size.
And Mats Sundin...yep....Mats Sundin could make a final appearance in Toronto now that Burke has shown that he is going for a play-off run.
Providing the Leafs can line up the other parts under budget, Sundin would come on board for a minimum price...not sure what that is, but if he likes what Burke has in place, it could set up his farewell year in Toronto...something he'd love to do.

Playoff run? Sundin? Really?
Well Burke did say he didn't plan on missing the playoffs a 2nd time as GM here so I think he will do what needs to be done.
Leafs should offer Sundin 3 million for 1 year. Take it or leave it.
I hope that you're wrong on both predictions.
I can get my head around the Leafs making the playoffs. But I sure have trouble believing Sundin would come back. But, maybe with a new GM, who knows?
Ya Sundin is gonna make them play off contenters. And in other news Gretzky is making a come back with Phoenix so they to can make a run at the cup
I think we've seen the last of Mats in a leaf jersey. On the ice anyways...Also, I really dont think Burke has playoff push on his mind yet. I think hes just trying to make the club better at every chance he gets. Whether or not they make the playoffs this season is irrelavent. What hes trying to create is a team that can make the playoffs for 6-10 seasons in a row.
yeah... well if I'm trading Kaberle to the Blue Jackets... its Filatov I'm after... not Huselius and just looking at the Leafs roster I am very very certain that it is not a playoff team... its a team that will be a pain to play against, but not a playoff team...

Doktordave do you even watch hockey, Burke is going for a playoff run? All he has done is change the seat you have in the car as you go over the cliff. He's not going for a playoff run he is obvously going for the 1st pick next year. I mean really Exelby and Orr have you seen these guys play, AHL players at best. I hate when people blog about stuff they know nothing about.
