Welcome to Saturday afternoons LIVE Game Blog versus the Kingston Frontenacs!

Pre-game Notes:

- This is the fifth meeting between the clubs this year. Ottawa won 9 - 0 last time.
- Keep your eye on Ryan Spooner & Nathan Moon for the Frontenacs.
- The 67′s are 5-5-0-0 in their last 10 games. That's a little better!
- Tyler Toffoli leads the OHL in scoring, Shane Prince is only 7 points behind.

Keys to the game for Ottawa:

- Don’t take to many penalties. The Frontenacs are the 10th ranked PP in the league @ 20.8%
- The penalty kill seems to be getting better. We are ranked 2nd overall in the PK @ 83.0%
- Be aggressive on the forecheck and in the neutral zone.
- Make smart passes when trying to either gain the 0-zone and break out of the d-zone.
- Spread the offense around. The top line can’t win them all.

- Davidson misses a great tip chance in front for Kingston

- Martindale tries to knife a pass but it gets intercepted

- Nesbitt loses and edge and the race

- Amazing glove save by Mrazek on Ryan Spooner

- Martindale turns it over in the o-zone, can't be doing that!

First Period - 15:00

- Great back and forth by both teams, good rush chances

- Spooner tees it up but the shot gets blocked

- I could have swore that puck was in the bench ...

- Great pass in front by Monahan, no shot

- WOW!!!! How did Durocher miss? Amazing toe save by Mrazek!!

First Period - 10:00

- Another amazing Kingston chance does not get converted .. what luck!

- WOW ... tic-tac-toe ..

OTTAWA GOAL!!! Cody Lindsay (23) Assists: Nesbitt (24) & Monahan (16)

- Great work by the Graovac line .... I swore I seen a hook on Graovac

- Luciani hobbles off after his 4th blocked shot, hope he's ok!

- Smith looses an edge and goes flying into the boards

- That rocket just missed ....

- Ottawa got away with a hook there on Mooon

First Period - 05:00

- Lindsay passes it right to Kingston D-Man, Harrison ... never good

- Great job by Gibbons to keep the pressure alive

- Penalty (Ott) - Nic Foglia - 2 minutes for hooking

- Luciani just hobble off the ice to the dressing room folks ... not a good sign!

- Great job by Smith in front of his own net to clear the zone

- Monahan just misses high with a great tip n front of the Kingston net

- Great job by Zanetti to keep his man to the outside

- Mrazek make the routine save off the shot from the point

- Sweet pad save my Mrazek ... very nice!

- Luciani makes his way back into the game ... nice!

- Lindsay almost gets another on the wrap around

- Scramble in front of the Ottawa ... scarey ...

- Martindale finally wins a faceoff ...

Second Period - 15:00

- Another big pad save by Mrazek ... his own man screened him

- Ottawa top line with 2 very good chances but they can't cash in

- Great stick by Lindsay ... He ever play baseball?

- Carnevale almost stuffs it in on the short side

- See that? Foglia took that face off instead of Martindale ..

- Great moves by Dalton Smith ... but he loses an edge

Second Period - 10:00

- Penalty (Kin) - Jeff Braithwaite - 2 minutes for holding

- How did Cardwell not convert that?

- Shot from the point ....

- Oh My ...... that's 3 amazing chances that Kingston could not convert

- WOW ... Lindsay rings one right off the post .... I need a replay .. almost had the trick!

Second Period - 05:00

- Long lead pass for Martinale can't be handled

- Ottawa pressing again ...

OTTAWA GOAL!!!! Cody Lindsay (25) Assists: Nesbitt (25) & Ceci (19)

- Lindsay's pass is just out of Nesbitt's reach

- The 5 goals in a row for Lindsay folks!

- Toffoli get's robbed by Grubauer ... nice glove save!

- Penalty (Ott) - Travis Gibbons - 2 minutes for elbowing

- So much for that stick ..

- WOW ... amazing shot block by Cody Ceci

- Good job on the PK boys!

- Martindale fans on a great chance in front of the Kingston net

- Mrazek decides to hold onto the puck

Third Period - 15:00

- And another stick bites the dust ...

- Martindale with another great chance in front ...

- Cardwell drops two Frontenacs in his own end

- Ottawa playing good shut down hockey right now

Third Period - 10:00

- Cull with a shot right on Mrazek ... save is made

- Nice takeaway by Cardwell is his own end

- Cardwell saves the day yet again ...Kingston almost had a 2 on 0

- Kingston Goal - Tyler Brown (7) - Nice tip, right off the face off.

Third Period - 05:00

- Errant pass by Lindsay is picked off

- Kingston Goal - Cajkovsky (3) - Here we go again ...

- Nice save by Mrazek to preserve the 1 goal lead

- This is a tense final 2 minutes

- WOW .... intense!!

That was the outcome I expected folks, but I gotta give some props to Kingston for making a game of it in the 3rd. However, this time our boys were able to overcome the late game breakdown and get the win.
