It’s Game Day folks! In Wednesdays game, the 67′s beat the Kingston Frontenacs by a score of 5 – 1. Kingston took a 1 - 0 lead late in the first but Tyler Toffoli tied it with just over a minute remaining. From there, our boys never looked back, and went on to score 4 more unanswered goals. The offense was led by the Tyler Toffoli (2G) and Thomas Nesbitt (1G,1A).
On to today …. The Niagara IceDogs are in town and tonight marks the return of the 67's Barber Pole Jersey!!!
The IceDogs offense is lead by Ryan Strome (99 pts). They are 5-5-0-0 over the last 10 games and are currently on a 3 game winning streak. The IceDogs also feature 2nd year d-man Dougie Hamilton. After only getting 16 pts over 64 games in his rookie season, he has made remarkable progress this year. He currently has 54 pts over 62 games. I wanted to mention him because I play NHL11 and have actually drafted him in GM mode. Seems like it was a good choice!
Depending on the status of his groin, we should see work horse Petr Mrazek get the start for the 67′s and Brandon Maxwell get the start for the Rangers.
Division Race Update:
Ottawa 87 pts – 4 games left, 8 more possible pts
Oshawa 82 pts – 5 games left, 10 more possible pts
This means that Oshawa can only hope hope to finish with 92 pts, while Ottawa would only need 5 to get to 92 pts to ensure the division win. Co’mon boys, you can do it!!
On that same note, if Oshawa loses to Kingston tonight, that will bring Ottawa’s magic number down to 1 point.
Injury Updates:
Petr Mrazek - Groin - Was supposed to start skating this week. Might be ready for tonight.
Marc Zanetti - ??? - ??? (I'll get an update tonight)
Jon Carnevale - Concussion - Indefinitely
