The predictable parting of ways between the Calgary Flames and Brent Sutter happened today. Three years of playoff-less hockey and a team in desperate need of a new identity eventually sunk Sutter. So who's next? Come join the discussion:

Boughner and Mullen I think would be better choices as coach. Or a long shot on Oates
Bob Boughner's name has come up as well as Dave Tippett if the 'Yotes move to Quebec as you cannot have a non French speaking coach in that town.
I would love Tippet as a coach. Sutter had to go three years no playoffs. With the rosters he had that underperforming. One elite goalie in Kipper and you've got Iggy Jokinen and Tanguay for large parts of his tenture Sutter could just never get them to be consistent.
Did they underperform? No first line Centre and only (Cammy, Iggy, Tang, Joker, Glencross) 5 guys that can play top 6. (Some not consistantly) How many players on Philly would instantly make our top 6 or first line for that matter... no - Sutter got the shit end of the stick.
