A very small percentage of making the playoffs, yet the team must still charge forward. Head on over to the Sports Roundup for the latest musings as the Flames look forward to playing the Sens and the Leafs this weekend.

Also check out why a certain blogger at TSR dislikes the Toronto Maple Leafs so much!

Couple of good write ups. TheRev nailed it for me. The whole "Leafs" culture is baffling to me, especially when it sucks in someone under the age of 30.

The flames will make the playoffs and they will make it at least to the second round. They are playing good hockey while other teams crash to reality ***cough*** The Sharks*** Cough***Newman, for a Flames fan you sure don't cheer your team on alot. Instead you like to these doom and gloom bits and point out every flaw. Perhaps try a little optimism for once

Hey Clarick, its tough to have any optimism when the team is so poorly mis managed in every facet of the game. Sure I can talk about Gio and how good a signing Tangs was but for the most part there arent a lot of positives. You may call it pessimism, i call it reality.

Yes but for fans of this team who have been cheering even through the 7 years without playoff know the current situation is not nearly as bad as you and many others make it to be. I challenge you to find the positives and focus on them. You will find you may enjoy watching this team again.

Trust me buddy i have been with this team since 93' so I realize what tough times are. There are positives...like getting younger and not pushing a guy like Backlund further and further down the depth chart in favour of older guys...but that's not happening

Positives: Giordano, Iggy being Iggy, Bouw playing better, Tangs...that's where it drops off though. It's not a whole lot to be excited about. I want this team to improve and win a stanley cup and the only way to do that is to re-assemble a knowledgable mngment team and re-build a team that can compete on a nightly basis.

It's not enough to win 3 in a row and then lose 4 in a row, or win one lose one. There is something fundamentally wrong with this team and it needs to be addressed...and I believe Feaster is on his to doing so. I like what he has to say and I guess only time will tell what he does. Im very interested to see what he comes up with.

I care...a lot about how this team performs and maybe that's why I am so cynical sometimes, but right now it's tough to be positive about the makeup of this team. One thing that did make me smile though was beating the Leafs tonight! Not a better feeling in the world in my opinion...

I love my team, but when it comes to analyzing the team i'm not going to lie to myself or the people that read my blog and say the Flames are a great team when they are not. I just hope that the team is headed in a better direction, and with the firing of Sutter I believe that is the first step towards a better future of the Calgary Flames
