Well sabres fans it's confirmed Teppo Numminen has resigned with the Sabres

According to nhlpa.com Sabres vetern Defenceman Teppo Numminen has a 2.6 million Dollar salary for 07-08.

Please note that teppo is the only Sabre on the list who is an UFA or RFA that has a salary listed for 07-08.
I am not sure if this is a type-o by the site but I don't recall him having a salary a few dyas ago. I could very well be wrong but who knows. If it is true, I think the sabres overpaid for him bigtime. I like Teppo @ 1.5-1.75 not 2.6 though. This might be a move by Buffalo to save some of the leadership from last years roster or so we ( Sabres fans ) can't say they aren't active in the FA market.
Now some people say that the nhlpa lists the UFA's with last years #'s but i don't belive that to be the case @ all. Here are a few examples:

Looking at that list, I just realized Jaro Spacek is now our highest paid player... Yikes!

That's not to say he didn't sign a multi-year contract, and it's the average of the contract.

Peca is a shell of his former self, and he bad mouthed Buffalo before leaving. I don't want him back, and it appears he doesn't want to be back in Buffalo either. Resigning Teppo appears to be a 'just in case move'. Management knows the Sabres franchise has little to no appeal to UFA's, and they know they ought to get leadership in the locker room with Drury gone. But at $2.6 million though?? Come on, how many other teams were even willing to give him $1.5 million?? Buffalo shot themselves in the foot giving Teppo $2.6 million for another season, IMO.
