Well actually yesterday 8/25/07 marked the 2 year anniverasry of the Buffalo Sabres obtaining defenseman Toni Lydman from the Calgary Flames for a mear 3rd round selection in the 2006 draft (C-John Armstrong) . With this acquisition the Sabres were able to form the #1 tandem of Tallinder - Lydman.

Here is a Toni's stats as a Sabre:
Regular season
142 GP 3 G 33 A 36 PTS +19 137 PIM (1 GWG)
Post Season
34 GP 3 G 6 A 9 PTS +9 32 PIM

Now I ask you Sabre Fans what is your #1 Toni Lydman moment? Is it a goal, a check, a certain play ( good or bad ) or was it just a moment when you met him?

For me it was locker room clean out at the end of the magical 05-06 season. I had asked Toni for a stick. I thought for sure I was being blown off like many other players do when asked of this request. Then while waiting to great the players and thank them for the great season Mr. Lydman reached over the fence and handed me a stick. A few minutes later he signed it for me. That was great. The stick now hangs proudly in my basement amongst my extensive Sabres memrobalia collection.

Nice blog, SC. Glad to see you back. I didn't watch the Sabres season, on account of being a Leafs fan so I don't really have a Tony Lydman moment but I did see a video of him in the Finn league ( I think) and he's beating the hell out of some player in a fight... quite entertaining. Intresting stats also, he matched his regular season goals in his career in just 34 playoff games... quite impressive.
