I've said it before, and now I am officially saying it. The Canucks can only make the playoffs with 96 points. History proves to be very reliable, especially in the last few years.

Last year the Canucks by this time of year were tearing up the Western Conference with a impressive 2nd half of the season. This year, well... it's not quite the same. We are struggling with those close 1 goal games. The weaker teams are now stronger. Long gone are the easy wins at Chicago, Nashville or hell even St Louis. Not to mention the fantastic year Phoenix is having. So what does this spell out for the Canucks this year. 96 Points, that's as easy as it can be. If for some reason the Canucks start playing like it actually matters, and that the actual players want to make the playoffs then 96 points is what everyone should be aiming at.

As of today - March 6th

Team GP W L P
9. Vancouver 66 32 24 74

We are 9th place in the West 2 points out of a playoff spot, and 5 points out of the Division Lead. With 1 game in hand over Minnesota, Calgary and Colorado. That one game could be the deciding factor if we make it or not.

We have 16 games left of the season to get 22 points, ouch when you look at it like that, we don't have alot of wiggle room. We need to win at least 10 or 11 of the remaining 16 games. Is that even possible? I don't think so, well not with this team.

So in 5 more games, depending on if the Canucks can actually muster up something, and kick this losing skid, we might have a chance. But it doesn't look pretty.

The numbers don't lie, and as you pointed out, they show a very bleak road for them to even get into the playoffs.I hope, only for Roberto's sake, that they get in. I'm looking to next year already.

Right, based on what Luongo mentioned that he wants a competitive team, I would highly suggest Nonis to change this team if they don't make the playoffs. For anything it's for the prevention of losing the greatest Canuck Goalie ever. If we don't make the Playoffs, and it looks slim, then next year will be all or nothing
