as much as I will enjoy watching this, it will get very little coverage in the US going up against the bowl games on January 1. love the idea for an outdoor game but the NHL is just gonna get hammered with the ratings. its very tough for any sport, let alone hockey, to go up against the college bowl games. as for me, should be alot of fun to watch

If it was on a weekend I'd try to find a way to get there but it's a Tuesday so I guess I'll just watch on center ice.

I was hoping for a Leafs vs. Sabres outdoors game but I guess Sabres vs. Crosby is a good event.

actually Flame, the Buffalo News did a blog on that and the average weather on january 1 is 38 degrees F. So that with a 1pm start should make a decent day.As for ticket info, tickets are expected to start at 80 bucks according to sources.

Well, you know what? I'll pay any price to be apart of something like this. Frankly, I think that this game will bring in very close to 90k fans, and the tailgating experience will be there, as well. I have tons of Penguins Fan friends that have been leaving me messages on how they got their money ready to go to fork over for some tickets and want to come out tailgating with me before. Honestly, this will be awesome. Well, as for the much anticipated Leafs/Sabres bowl...I have the suspicion that they didn't permit that from happening because, well, can you imagine the hords of Leafs fans and Sabres fans clashing at an event like that? Call in the National Guard!! I think it will be great for the sport of hockey, and I feel that in the hockey loving regions throughout North America, it'll sell. As for the south and the football lovin' droves of people? I don't think they'll miss their football bowl games for this. They all have money and pride on that. Us hockey troopers just have pride for an event like this. Now when the hell can I buy these 35 tickets I have money coming in for? :-D haha

The BCS championship is on January 8th, I think. The Rose Bowl is usually on the 1st, as is the Sugar Bowl, but no one cares about the Sugar Bowl anyway. This idea is worth a shot, and at the least will get 75,000 or so fans in Buffalo. And imagine if there's snow; it would be on highlight shows for months.
